An On-Chain Promised Land

What oil is to the Arab world, what gold is to West Africa, what diamonds are to South Africa, creativity, innovation and talent is to Black America. It is our natural resource. Up until now we have not been able to mine, refine or monetize our natural resources to the benefit of our community.

Traditionally we have seen what we create as a people, financed, owned and distributed by others. Paying us a royalty on our own creations. Imagine a collectively owned venture capital and development mechanism that finances ventures and protocols selected by the community.

The community now has an incentive to support these ventures because they have a financial interest in their success. This creates positive network effects and a virtuous cycle of value creation. The technology now exists for this community to coordinate on the blockchain, a decentralized, immutable ledger for recording transactions, tracking assets and sharing value.

We believe there are 1,000 future blockchain millionaires on Howard’s campus, right now.

We believe there are 10,000 future blockchain millionaires within the HU community, right now. We believe there are 1,000,000 future blockchain millionaires within the broader Diaspora, right now.

We believe the Howard University community is in a unique position to positively impact the larger diaspora and to change the course of human history. We now have the ability to mine and tokenize our collective value, and to share the proceeds of what we create with all members of the community fairly and transparently.

The HU DAO is a Decentralized Autonomous Organization that uses blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies to pool funds, provide a governance mechanism and to incentivize the community to develop our untapped natural resources.
