Introducing Hubble DAO & Space Cats

A brief recap

Hubble’s Space Cats are a community-initiated project, it began when three Hubblers: Dorlanz, Alejoh and Lelouch came together to create a new artefact for Hubblers: PFPs. Since then, development for the Space Cats has spanned many weeks and it has become one of the most anticipated projects within the Hubble community.

Hubble aims to create something truly authentic to its decentralist ethos. We want to contribute towards creating a protocol that’s anti-fragile. And anti-fragility is an output of decentralization.

What started off as a project built for fun by Hubblers, for Hubblers has since turned into an integral part of Hubble. We’re doing what’s never been done before: creating a DAO using our earliest supporters using NFTs. The Hubble Space Cats will serve as an instrument to bootstrap the Hubble DAO.

The Space Cats are’t just pretty PFPs, they will hold governance power over the Hubble Protocol until Hubble is ready for a token. This means Hubble is a DAO and each NFT represents voting power. Holding an NFT is a responsibility — if you own one, the future of Hubble is in your hands.The PFPs will be non-transferrable until Hubble’s token generation event.

Additionally,

• Owning the NFT will give you a trading fee discount on Hubble.
• They become your PFP on Hubble’s Interface.

The NFT cat avatars and metadata will be revealed twice a day. This is to prevent users from trying to game the system by claiming the rare ones.

Distribution

A fair distribution has been formulated, giving power in the DAO to those who have tested Hubble and contributed.

A snapshot of testers was taken on Dec-09–2021 09:00:00 AM +UTC — block. 1771 Testers were whitelisted.

Criteria used:

• Testnauts who whitelisted in cohort 1 & 2 and made atleast 1 trade.
• Some testnauts whitelisted different addresses in cohort 1 & 2. If they traded with both, one address was chosen at random.
• Accounts that tried general access until Dec-09–2021 09:00:00 AM +UTC.
• Accounts that had tokens sent to them manually and made atleast 1 trade.

Additionally, a snapshot of xp was taken on Dec-02–2021 12:51:00 AM PDT. The top 30 on the xp-leaderboard will receive additional cats: Top 10: 3 Cats, 11–20: 2 Cats, 21–30: 1 Cat.

The remaining 8,169 PFPs will be used for Contribution Mining, Inviting Traders to Hubble and Giveaways.

Next Steps.

• If your address is whitelisted, Space Cats are available for claiming now: spacecats.hubble.exchange.
• In order to structure the Hubble DAO, in the next few days, a set of proposals will go live to install a core contributing team, establishing the tokeneconomics, setting up Councils such as one for Investments, Airdrops and the Protocol’s System Parameters.
