TL;DR

For the past 8 months, our team at Cricket Huddle has been experimenting. Our goal was simple. Create a better way to get cricket on your phone. We think we’re getting close, and we’d love for you to try it!

The app is available on both iOS & Android along with our daily email newsletter

Why are we working on this?

Today cricket is consumed on Facebook, Twitter, Whats App, YouTube not counting the thousands of news sites, blogs, etc. Its humanely impossible to process all this information on a daily basis.

Filtering baby photos, political rants or click baity articles with endless amounts of directionless scrolling saps our energy. This information is only going to increase in the near future.

But if you think about it, it doesn’t have to be that way. As die hard cricket romantics, we just needed a simple way to get the best of cricket every day.

No one did it, so we just built it

What if an easy to use app was provided to cricket lovers to connect with best of cricket every day ? Being closet geeks ourselves, we just decided to roll our sleeves and get working.

What makes the app different ?

What most of cricket apps promise is latest news, scores, schedules and fixtures of upcoming games. We do not do any of that.

If there were 3 takeaways from the app, they would be :

  1. Our Picks : Best of cricket writing hand picked every day by cricket editors and writers from all across.
  2. Discover and Share Cricket Stories : A chance to discover and share cricket stories — either your own or at times the ones you discover through Facebook or WhatsApp.
  3. Trophies & rewards : We believe social sharing should not go waste. So we reward fans with trophies and surprise goodies as they share and engage about Cricket on Cricket Huddle. For more info on how you can win trophies, read our FAQ.

So, who can create Cricket Huddle stories?

Anyone can! You might be a cricket team, player, coach or fan. Cricket Huddle is for all of you. Download the App either on your iOS & Android device and just start using it.

P.S Presently our close group of friends are testing the app. But If you’re interested in experimenting, email me at ved@crickethuddle.com

Final thoughts

Sam Krishnan one of our early members and testers, gave us the best review so far.

“ It might be the only cricket app I would actually need on my phone”.

If we do it right, we would be doing something good for millions of cricket fans all across. But honestly the best way to judge it for yourself is just to try it out.

Anyway, we’re really excited to get Cricket Huddle a little further out in the wild! It’s been the most challenging/fun professional experience of our lives so far. If you enjoy the design or our work, it’d mean a lot to us if you shared it with others or at least tweeted at us (we’re twitter.com/crickethuddle) to let us know that you liked it.

We are far from a finished product, If you hated the app or had suggestions or improvements — we would love to hear from you. Shoot me an email at ved@crickethuddle.com : Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks so much, and be on the lookout for much, much more!

Thanks for reading! :) If you enjoyed it, hit that heart button below. Would mean a lot to me and it helps other people see the story.
