As you may know because of corona virus 🦠 we are sadly back in France. Not that I don’t like France but I would much rather be traveling.

The first time I heard of corona virus was in late January. I was in Thailand. At that time, it didn’t really change anything apart from more people than usual wearing masks (including us 😄). So at that time I just thought “meh who cares we’re not even planning to go to China anyway”, but now everything has gone so far that we have had to stop everything and just come home as quickly as we possibly could.

So I will explain briefly why we suddenly had to go home. First the problems started in India 🇮🇳 because to be honest we didn’t have any troubles blamed on corona virus in the other countries. But the moment we stepped foot in India, problems came one after the other. Suddenly everything we had planned and written on the world map 🗺 seemed to be rubbed away. From one day to the next, we didn’t know which country we were going to go next. Mum and dad were always stressed and it didn’t feel quite right anymore. 😕The first real thing that made me really sad was one morning, dad announced that the Taj mahal 🕌 would be closing. I was like “Come on , the best thing to see in India” but that was just the beginning.

We did manage to spend an amazing night 🌌in the desert (as I explained in my previous blog) but at one point things got so bad that mum and dad were just like, ok let’s just go to Goa (the nicest beaches 🏖in India) and just stay there and then see. So that was what we were supposed to do, my parents even booked the flights to Goa. ✈But the next day the Indian government said that no international flights would be leaving India for a week. At that point, we realised we didn’t want to be stuck in India because we knew that it was going to be much more than a week.

We decided to go to France 🇫🇷 (our house is rented out in London) but it wasn’t easy : from Jaipur, we first had to take an old rickety bus 🚍to Delhi.

Last photo before leaving India 😢

It arrived at 11pm and after a 20 minute tuk-tuk ride we arrived at a trash hotel. I didn’t really mind because we were only going to sleep about 2 hours and then hurry up to catch our flight to Sri Lanka leaving at 5am. 🤤 When we arrived in Sri Lanka things got really weird, the airport was only open for people in transit and as soon as we got off the plane, people in full protection gear and the military herded us to the airport. 😷Then a guy in a military gas mask came and sprayed us from head to toe with disinfectant. 🧼After all that, we were escorted by the military into a completely closed 🔒room until our flight was due. After what felt like years of waiting, we boarded our jam packed flight to London. The change of temperature was brutal once we had arrived in London: we lost about 30ºC in less than 24 hours. 🥶 It was very complicated to get to France but in the end we managed.

So that is how right now as you are reading this, I am in France quarantined like the rest of you ! Luckily, I am in a really nice family house in front of the Geneva lake. I have space, a great view, stuff to do. I could be stuck somewhere much worse.

I really really really really really hope that we can go and travel again soon but for the moment thanks for spending time to read this, for once you probably don’t have anything else to do, 🤪 but still, I appreciate it. And most importantly do not hesitate to follow me and leave a clap 👏🏼for this article.

Thanks 🙏🏼 again
