When Dad told us that we were going to meet up with some of his colleagues/friends in Dubrovnik I kinda zoned out. I had never seen them before, plus Dubrovnik was in ages. Then when he started saying that we were going to have lunch with them at their 5 star hotel WITH POOL I started listening again. 5 minutes later I could not wait to go ! If you are thinking hang on there, are they allowed to go to the pool? Well the answer is very simple, yes you are allowed. So we took our swimsuits, goggles and towels and we headed towards the hotel (we actually took an Uber but that is not the point).

That day (and many other ones) happened to be a very hot one so jumping into the huge pool felt really good . After a little refreshing swim Raph and me headed over to the jacuzzi and had a rather relaxing time there. As the jacuzzi is literally stuck to the pool (if you didn’t get it basically the pool and the jacuzzi are side by side with just a couple metres of tiles floor in between) we spent quite a long moment jumping from jacuzzi to pool and back. After all this jumping, swimming and more we had lunch, said goodbye and left the hotel.

In the bubbling jacuzzi…

That very afternoon we set off to go to a nearby island, called Lokrum. It had clear refreshing water (Croatia has a lot of beautiful turquoise waters) and game of thrones related stuff (that part was more for the parents but because they are the parents we had to come along too 😉). The waters were indeed nice and cooling and we spent a lovely, calm afternoon. So all in all this was a very nice day.

In Lokrum and one of the many waterfalls in Krka's national park.

But wait, I am not finished just one more thing if you don’t mind. So a couple of days after that we drove to Krka’s national park (I know Croatian is really hard to speak!) which is all about lakes and waterfalls. Here we weaved across the waterfalls and rivulets scattered here and there. Then we arrived to a large waterfall where we could swim. There were quite a lot of people (even with corona virus) but we managed quite easily.

As we got closer and closer to the waterfall the current got stronger and stronger until you had to push with your arms and kick with your legs much harder than usual. We took some cool photos, swam around a little bit then returned to our campervan and drove away on the lookout for a new adventure…

There it was, my very last blog, I hope you have enjoyed it as well as all of my other articles. Please clap for this article and follow me on medium if you do not already.
