We all know the standstill that sports are in but it is not without hope. Optimism has begun to spread that Baseball and Basketball could start sometime in June! Lighter days are ahead (check that out here) and enjoy this dive into the past, present and future.

5. Tweet at ESPN to release the long-awaited Michael Jordan Documentary two months early.

ESPN has been working on a miniseries focused on the 1997–1998 Chicago Bulls which was Michael Jordan’s last season in the league. The crew who filmed this documentary for ESPN had all access and we fully expect an in-depth look at Michael Jordan more than ever before. It was announced back in 2018 with a release date around when the finals should take place in June this year. The issue is, the NBA finals have been postponed indefinitely and no one knows when they will actually take place. NBA Twitter has been very focal on this issue.

On the Roadtrippin’ podcast, Lebron James weighed in, “If I’m Michael Jordan I am asking them, what is the reason we hold onto it until June now? Compared to now when everyone is at home, it’s been done so why wait?” Lebron James clamoring for the early release of the documentary will assuredly turn some heads within the ESPN front offices. Even ESPN employee and close friend Richard Jefferson pleaded with his own company to release it, “ESPN I don’t want to get fired but release that Sh*t! Release it!” To which James rebutted, “ESPN can’t fire you RJ, you’re my friend.” It appears James knows when and how to use his power, hopefully this one works out for all of us.

4. Live Stream simulated video games and wager on them with friends

I have seen this throughout Twitch, Twitter, and Facebook Live which is quite the boon for Esports fans. Bleacher Report has even been making odds for the game as if the game was really happening. You can bet on first touchdown, over under total points, even have handicaps set for the game. Be sure to update the rosters with Tom Brady on the Buccaneers and others to really give it the authenticity. Friendly wagers can increase the drama and keep everyone engaged hanging on every play just like the real thing. Everyone needs a little bit of action right?

3. Rewatch your favorite teams most magical playoff run.

Recently I found myself reintroducing myself to my favorite sports team of all time. The 2008 NFL Champion New York Giants. As big of a Giants as anyone that I knew, I remembered this playoff run like it was yesterday. Watching Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, and one of my all-time favorites Dave Tollefson run wild on opposing quarterbacks. I remember calling everyone that I knew before the game started that the Giants were a sure thing and that the Giants were not the team the Patriots wanted to run into for the Super Bowl. Naturally the 11-year-old called everybody screaming “I told you!” after Plaxico Burress came down in the end zone with the ball and both feet in bounds with 35 seconds left in the game. I proceeded to take off the next 3 days from school to go to the parade and celebrate. Simpler times…

2. Join a Fantasy Baseball league or begin preparation for Fantasy Football.

One of my guilty pleasures has always been fantasy baseball. It is one of my longtime hobbies and a league that keeps me engaged every step of the way. In my experience, lineups that lock weekly with category style scoring are the most effective. Add an extra layer of fun with keepers. Fantasy baseball players are becoming a rare breed leaving us just to fantasy football. Time to prepare for the season ahead keeping ever close care of who is going where. Deandre Hopkins is headed to Arizona, Odell is staying in Cleveland(?), and Todd Gurley has signed with Atlanta. Lots of player movement and sharp players often say to draft as early as possible to get a leg up on the competition. If you are looking at rankings and seeing Odell Beckham in the 40s and 50s just know I am going to make the pick every damn time. Already planning my getaway with the winnings that I will inevitably get from fantasy football.

  1. Watch UFC 249 Tony Ferguson VS. Khabib Nurmagomedov- April 18th

Is this really possible? Not too sure but if we have learned anything, do not doubt Dana White. Brett Okamoto’s interview told us a lot about Dana White’s plans. He sees an opportunity, like he often does, in this quarantined society. Sports fans are starving and clamoring for some type of sports action. Dana has said that the UFC will be holding this event on April 18th in a secret location and is going to make it a “monster card”. Could that mean the return of the Notorious Conor McGregor vs Justin Gaethje? Francis Ngannou had a fight lined up again Jairzinho Rozenstruik which is being rumored to being added to the card. Whatever Dana has up his sleeves to show a card PPV event we all are absolutely here for it. Think he is going to hold the event in the United States? What about Russia? Discuss in the comments below!
