A total of at least 15 people are arrested for curfew violation which on Tuesday is in effect between 6p.m. and 6a.m. When asked about the exact number of detainees taken during the arrest, officers responds that they do not know how many people are detained. The curfew changes multiple times each day since being imposed at the start of country wide protests against the murder of George Floyd due to episodes of violence and looting. Many Greater Los Angeles area citizens say they are confused by the conflicting rules from state, county, and city officials and don’t know which means of alert to trust as the superseding order they should follow. Los Angeles city in particular uses the cellphone alert system designed for disaster communication, originally developed as “The Amber Alert” to track down child abductors. The message is broadcasted to smart phones as a pop up message and disappears after the user clicks on it.
