Choose your niche wisely to rank better!
A lot of people who plans to become a blogger, they just want to write about whatever they like but this is not how blogging works.
What is niche?
Niche is your industry or your topic, about which you write.
Well, you would need to consider some factors as well while choosing a niche.
There are types of niches:
1. Macro niches (which are broad with a lot of topics included)
2. Micro niches (which includes specified topics)
For instance, macro niche is sports then micro niche is football.
You can start a blog about either macro or micro niche
Generally speaking, if your blog is about macro niche then harder it is for you to grow and rank. If your blog is about micro niche then easier it is to grow and rank.
For instance, you write specifically about football games then Google trusts you. But if you write about general topic like sports then Google wouldn’t trust you. Or Micro niche is Cats only and Macro niche is pets.
It is better to start a blog on micro niche, especially if it is your first blog otherwise macro niche might also work but not as better as micro niche in the beginning because everyone makes mistakes in their first blog and your mistakes might have lower impact if it is about micro niche instead macro niche.
How to choose niche?
There is a popular opinion to choose a niche based on your interests or hobbies or experiences because if you love to write about something then you are more likely to write better about it.
But
It is not necessary to start a blog regarding your interests because a lot of bloggers write about the topics that has nothing to do with their interests or experiences. They choose such niches because they assume that these niches are going to have more traffic on it. At the end of the day, you are blogging because you want to make money.
So you don’t have to only work on your interests but you can also work on a profitable niche which you can slowly learn about and educate yourself.
Consider these 2 factors when choosing a niche:
1. Profitability:
Blogs revenue is usually of two types, first one is through affiliate marketing and second one is through ads.
Affiliate marketing means when you get a commission when people purchase a product through your affiliate link, for instance, Amazon affiliate program.
There is no fixed figure that how much will you be paid by ads. This mostly depends on what your niche is about and then how much is that product in demand whose ads are displayed on your blog.
2. How competitive is your niche:
It is also very important to choose a niche according to competition because if you choose the one which is highly competitive then you have low chances to rank in Google and grow your website.
