2019 Oslo Freedom Forum “Breakout Sessions”
This year, for the eleventh annual Oslo Freedom Forum, we held a series of talks, fireside chats, panels, and workshops focused on tech, policy and activism. We were joined by some of the world’s leading nonviolence experts, entrepreneurs, policymakers, cybersecurity specialists, and creative activists.
Over the next few months, the Human Rights Foundation will be publishing the audio recordings from these sessions twice a week, here on Medium.

Both Western and Chinese companies are shaping the future of the Internet in ways that raise serious concerns over privacy and digital rights. This conversation included New York Times contributor and global affairs reporter Melissa Chan, Kickstarter founder Perry Chen, Financial Times Beijing tech correspondent Yuan Yang, and privacy advocate and Member of the European Parliament Marietje Schaake.
