Humanity’s Assimilation into the Universe

In the vastness of space, with countless races, humanity might wonder with whom we might engage.

If there was a parent watching the emerging humanity from above, a silent prayer might escape their lips, “God save them! For there are so many races in the universe, so many types, and their engagement with whom will determine what they will become as they grow up.”

Much like how we advocate to our children. “Don’t talk to strangers”, “Don’t be friends with the bad kids”. But often, we forget that humanity itself is just a teenage race, still grappling with its own adolescence.

We are impulsive and enterprising, ever consuming by our insatiable appetites, yet lacking the composure and wisdom of maturity. We wage wars and distort realities. We are captivated by the allure of technology, chasing infinite growth on a finite planet. The world becomes a mere game to us, where we earn points and fight for wealth, pride, and victory. Like spoiled children, we squander the gifts bestowed upon us by nature and the tireless efforts of those who have unveiled its secrets.

This is humanity’s current stage of development. No mature, discreet, discerning, and composed race in the universe would want to engage with us directly. They simply could not trust us, knowing that we are unlikely to keep our word. They recognize that our fascination with technology may lead us to break promises and that our weak mental discipline makes us susceptible to manipulation. This is why the advanced and mature races in the universe, who must be composed and discreet, for they know the universe is difficult, and one must be discreet and mature to deal with a universe full of competition, cannot trust humanity and are not willing to deal with us directly.

However, the more outcast ones, who don’t care much, the cosmic smugglers and opportunists, they will risk and deal with adolescent races like us, seducing us with technology, manipulating our minds to join with them, so we become a part of them, and together can exploit the remaining biological resources of Earth and beyond. The issue here is not just the depletion of our planetary wealth, but that we will become one like them. Like the wayward child who falls in with the wrong crowd, we risk becoming a reflection of the crowd we embrace.

God wouldn’t want us to go astray in our direction. God would want us to protect ourselves, prepare and be more mature, discerning, and patient so we could deal with our own mess before we can engage with the mature races in the Greater Community. This would need tremendous preparation from our side, and it cannot happen just like that.

The wars and conflicts, the challenges from the environment may all toughen us, and the toughening can happen through many failures. And as we become tough, which way will we go? Will we become more composed, self-sustaining, cooperative, peaceful, and mature as a family, or will we dominate, control, and rule ourselves like a mafia? Both are possible outcomes of suffering. Suffering gives birth to both saints and thugs. And thugs will seek out other thugs. Whom will we seek from the Greater Community? With whom will we associate? And into what shall we be assimilated into?

Will we end up in a gang of resource explorers? Or will we ace in our discernment and patience to ally with the more mature races of the universe? The choice is ours to make and the choice should start now. We should advocate for unity, cooperation, the need for discernment, and discretion in our affairs for a greater future.
