Technical Update
As we discussed on the previous update, this week our Android developer had been focusing on developing push notification system. Our plan for next week’s development is handling notification interface and user’s interaction for web login.
Now, let’s talk about iOS login process. By nature, Android development is less restrictive than iOS. humanID SDK is able to function independently in Android devices because developers can benefit from read/write access from a file. That being so, we need to adjust the login process for iOS device when a user has more than one humanID-enabled app installed. There are two ways to do that, the first one is login by using OTP and the second one is login by using a standalone humanID App. We will offer user a flexible login option so they may choose to login by either one of those options.
Let’s discuss the first option first.
If user chooses to login using OTP, the process will roughly look like this, well, assuming that user doesn’t have humanID App installed and this is the first app that will use humanID SSO. Next time user wants to login using this method for an additional, different app, they will again need to verify OTP. Now let’s take a look at the second option.
The second option goes under the same assumption, there’s no humanID App installed yet and this is the first app that will use humanID SSO. When user log in on the next app using this option, user won’t have to input OTP again. OTP is only mandatory for initial login. For future logins, user only needs to verify fingerprints.
