Let’s Talk About That Spiritual Path

I’m always interested when someone uses the word “path.” I know non-metaphorical paths well, and as a lover of etymology, I know that the word “path” itself . . . is off the “beaten path.” “Path” is a word whose origin is unknown. “Path” has meant “path” since the days when all the Indo-European languages were one language, sometime back in the Neolithic, on the order of 12,000 years ago.
