Surfing Doom

I’m a word-watcher. I love seeing unfocused ideas becoming concepts through words. One of my epistemological contentions is that we humans have a difficult time grasping reality until we have developed a vocabulary — a concept in words — to grasp that reality.

Imagine my delight then when I discovered that “doom-surfing” and “doom scrolling” are now terms in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. From now on, when I look up with a blank stare…
