Registration is now open for the Design for Humanity Summit, hosted by the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs at Fordham University and the UN Migration Agency (IOM). This one-day event will explore the intersection of design and humanitarian action for human dignity.
Presenters are creative practitioners from organizations and companies like the Airbel Center at the International Rescue Committee, the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), MASS Design Group, the Museum of Modern Art, IDEO.org, the UN Migration Agency, the UN Refugee Agency, and Airbnb.
They will share the stage with researchers from lead academic institutions such as Harvard Graduate School of Design, Universitat Internacional de Catalunya School of Architecture, and Portland State University Center for Public Interest Design.
We believe that through bridging their areas of expertise, both humanitarian and design professionals can more effectively design dignified and sustainable solutions to tackle today’s most pressing humanitarian challenges.
The Design for Humanity Summit will mark the beginning of an IIHA-IOM multi-year research initiative on humanitarian design.
The Design for Humanity Summit is made possible with the support of the Permanent Mission of Ireland to the United Nations, the Center for International Humanitarian Cooperation and Fordham University. Community partners include InterAction and the American Society of Interior Designers.
