Republican Men Get Peeved when I Don’t Want to Date Them!
Some years ago, I wrote an article on why I won’t date Republicans. The fall-out has been interesting.
The article that garned me three requests to be on conservative radio (I declined because I’ve had a gutful of being called a libtard and I prefer civilized debate to ad hominems), been debated on Reddit, and more. I deleted it from Hubpages about four months ago, but here’s what it used to look like!
So how come my article had so much leverage? It occurred to me that a reasonable number of Republican males must have been turned down by females on the basis of their politics. That would cause them to google the topic, and that is why my article was found. So I tested my theory by googling the topic myself. Here’s what I found.
What Liberal Women Say About Dating Conservative Men
I volunteer for the Democratic party and my oldest son is gay. How could I possibly date a Republican when our most important values clash? I can’t overlook that in this political climate given the opposition’s current rhetoric. These are not mild differences. I don’t think I’m being harsh. I understand it’s not easy to give up, but my sons went to see Spotlight and stayed up all night discussing it. And they are my life. A man who thinks sexuality is a choice or that he would feel uncomfortable around my son is not for me and I don’t see a way around this. Source.
“The political divide has gotten so wide that a lot of younger liberals don’t have any interest in meeting conservatives,” says a reporter at a conservative media company. Working for a right-wing publication is such an obstacle to dating in DC, he doesn’t put his employer on any dating apps and avoids talking about it until meeting someone face-to-face, he says. My date avoids answering, but loves Trump’s wall idea. He also tells me that birth control is a sin, that global warming isn’t real, and that the only reason there’s a pay gap is because women choose lower-paying jobs. He never once asks my opinion. Later, he texts me that I looked beautiful. I do not reply. Source.
Among Democrats and those who lean toward the Democratic Party who are single but looking for a relationship, about seven-in-ten (71%) say they probably or definitely would not consider being in a committed relationship with someone who voted for Donald Trump. In fact, 45% say they definitely would not consider seriously dating a Trump voter. Source.
Seventy-one percent of single Democratic Party voters said they are very unlikely to even consider dating a person who voted for Republican Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election, a new survey finds. Source.
But as a Republican in one of the most liberal cities in America, his political views are kryptonite in the US capital’s dating world, where he frequently finds himself attracted to Democrats. “A lot of first dates. Not a lot of second dates,” Bucci says of his love life these days. “I think Donald Trump has a lot to do with that.” Source.
There’s Very Little About Liberal Women Not Dating Conservative Men On the Web
So that’s all I could find — very little. That’s probably why my article ranked on Google. For the record, there are conservative women who won’t date liberal men, and there’s a bit of advice telling conservative men that they mustn’t date liberal women.
So here’s the bottom line. I’m a thinking woman, albeit an old woman. At the time I wrote the article, I was still being approached by men, and I suppose, there are still those who tell me with snake tongue and lying eyes that I am beautiful. (They think this will make me feel good — in reality, it’s meaningless to me. I’m concerned about climate change.)
What I find puzzling is why the hell someone would get so upset with an old, ugly woman who has shit for brains? I could understand it if I was a fabulous 21 year old with a goddess body that sizzled sex. Don’t you think there’s something a bit odd about that? A bit of cognitive dissonance, perhaps?
In any event, the article still upsets men. I think I wrote it in 2016.

Anyone want to hazard a guess why some Republican men are getting their knickers in a knotted balls-up over the fact that I won’t date conservative men?
