Michael Fronda

As a senior, what’s one piece of advice you would give to your freshman self?

“Take chances. A lot of people come into college and they’re afraid of taking that first step to getting involved. Take that chance, because you never know where it’ll lead you!”

What does SASE mean to you?

“To me, personally, SASE means family. When I first got involved and became part of the e-board, we were so close knit. We’re always the best of friends and we’re joking around and eating together. SASE for me is like a big family.”

What was your most memorable SASE event?

“I think my most memorable event was called ‘A Dollar Fifty A Day’. It was a blog that described our time living off only $1.50 a day. We got donations and tried to live off of this little money as students. It was really tough, but we video blogged a lot of our experiences and it was really memorable.”

What does being Asian mean to you?

“Asian to me means culture and tradition. As Asian-Americans we need to think of the future: how can we break the bamboo ceiling and help promote diversity in the workforce.”

Michael Fronda is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida who has been involved with SASE since his freshman year of college. In fact, he was one of the first members of his chapters! Not only is Michael an e-board member, but he’s also an avid poet. He performs spoken word poetry, where the poetry surrounds the beauty of the English language.
