How and to whom the Patient-Generated Health Data (PGHD) can be beneficial?

As shown, PGHD plays an essential role in impacting patients lives in a number of ways.
2. Medical experts
Doctors make decisions using the data collected in hospitals for patient treatments. However, these data are limited because they are recorded only inside the hospital and do not contain information on the continuously changing conditions of the patients outside of the hospital. Relying solely on the clinical data, doctors cannot make an accurate diagnosis of the overall health of the patients. By utilizing PGHD, we can reduce the amount of misdiagnosis and help in finding cures to the incurable diseases. Doctors can also utilize PGHD to gain a broader understanding of the patients’ health.

If the condition changes, patients can receive a different treatment that is most appropriate to their health status. In addition, PGHD also allows you to observe the patients’ daily lifestyle, gaining insight into their health and offer a treatment that is accustomed to your health. Ultimately, PGHD enables the patients to become healthier in various ways.
3. Research institutes
By utilizing PGHD, researchers and pharmaceutical companies no longer have to rely on hospitals or related systems and can conveniently and diversely recruit participants via online postings or social media. This recruitment method facilitates the research and reduces the time it takes to build a dataset for efficient analysis.
