The humble ventures crew participated in recent programming that included pretty interesting startups building solutions for problems worth solving — some for diverse & inclusive audiences.

Rock Health and Mount Sinai Co-Lab hosted Enterprise Insight Series: NYC, a gathering of select enterprise executives for a half-day of insights from the latest Rock Health research, facilitated networking opportunities, and expert discussions on startup-enterprise partnerships. humble ventures partner, Kayode Owens, capped off the event by moderating a showcase of curated innovators in digital health.

To close out the day, we heard from a group of entrepreneurs operating at the intersection of healthcare and technology. They discussed how their companies are working to improve healthcare and candidly share challenges they are facing with the audience, a room full of enterprise stakeholders. The panel prompted open dialogue for how startups, together with enterprises, can better support each other as the industry moves to scale innovation. Among the riveting discussion were big topics and trends such as:

  • Digital Health is maturing by size and number of deals
  • Consumers are overwhelmed
  • Building trust is important
  • Paradigms for healthcare are shifting
  • Turning luxury care into a commodity
  • One stop shops
  • Digital Health umbrella “brands” bonding with consumers
  • Care for those outside of the traditional care loop
  • Trend toward personalization
  • Love the problem not the solution
  • Multiple shots on goal

Do any of these trends resonate with you? If not, which trends are you seeing in the ecosystem?

Additionally, one startup making a significant impact in their community that stood out to us amongst the panelists was Radical Health. Radical Health is a minority women-owned social enterprise that works at the intersection of community health and tech. They combine meaningful conversations with AI enabled tech that helps people understand their health care rights during a visit, build trust, and develop self-advocacy.

We look forward to making more meaningful connections with diverse startups working at the intersection of health and tech especially as it relates to overlooked communities. If there are any captivating events and startups we should know about, then please contact us at start@humble.vc.
