The past week has been quite a ride. We are working on several exciting initiatives, which will be unfolded in the next few weeks, and made some rapid progress.

First off, we are thrilled to announce the release of a new brand identity including a new CoinAlpha logo, color palette and font. Carlo Las Marias, our Co-founder called this new logo “simple, clean, professional”.

“Our new logo leverages the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘A’, the initials of CoinAlpha, to signify a mountain and the moon,” said Yvonne Zhang, another Co-founder, “meaning we are shooting for the moon.”

We believe this new brand identity reflects who we are today and captures our mission to build an open, decentralized asset management ecosystem. We are going to roll it out across all channels in phases. Hope you guys like this new look!

This week, our Co-founder and CEO, Michael Feng, was invited to a video panel discussion by BitTiger and shared his thoughts on some blockchain industry trends, and how to jump on the blockchain bandwagon and become a blockchain engineer.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE?

Mainnet Deployment and Testing

We deployed the Basket Protocol to the Ethereum mainnet (What’s the mainnet, you may wonder? We’ve got you covered: Testnet vs. Mainnet.) , and tested the contracts using actual cryptocurrency tokens on the Mainnet.

Let us go through the testing process. We created the genesis basket on the mainnet. As shown on Etherscan, the genesis basket does actually hold 15 tokens.

We also tested all the other main functions of the Protocol:

Etherscan shows the mainnet test basket included the following tokens: BNB, OMG, ZIL, AE, ZRX, REP, PPT, BAT, IOST, WTC, DGD, LRC, AION, ELF, KNC

According to Etherscan, all the tokens were transferred to the basket contract, that is, we successfully minted our first basket that held 15 different ERC20 tokens!

Like any other crypto tokens, the basket can be easily transferred to anyone.

We also tested the Protocol’s ability to create and fill orders.

Viola! We debundled the basket we created and bought, and got all the underlying tokens in the basket.

Index Creation and Rebalancing Tool

As mentioned last week, our dev team has been working hard to bring a best-in-class index creation and rebalancing tool to life. It is the tool that will literally make index creation and rebalancing a breeze for our partners. It will be live soon!

WHAT ARE WE WORKING ON?

Our dev team is still working on building a powerful data collection tool, which will provide reliable real-time and historical crypto market data to users. This tool is very important and highly sought after.

Additionally, we keep working on recruiting. Two experienced new members will join our dev team in the coming September. How exciting! To learn more about us, visit coinalpha.com. Until next time, stay “coiny”!

Best,
Team CoinAlpha

Important Disclaimer: The tests mentioned above were conducted for testing purposes and internal use ONLY. The goal is to test the protocol’s ability to function on the Mainnet with real digital assets. While CoinAlpha deployed The Basket Protocol on the Mainnet to test the contracts, these tests were NOT transacted with or advertised to any other parties and were NOT a sale or an offer to sell to any other parties.
