Humon at the Boston Triathlon

This year’s Boston Triathlon, sponsored by Columbia Threadneedle Investments, was the first year to feature the Olympic course (in addition to the Sprint course) and had 1200 athletes competing in total — needless to say, we were absolutely thrilled to be a part of it!

Registration Day

The festivities started for us on Saturday when athletes came by to register and grab their race swag. We had a great set up and even brought an exercise bike that we had people ride and demo our latest device!

Race Day

Race day was an early one for us — we had our tent set up and ready to go by 5:30am! Although the weather wasn’t cooperative, sporadically spitting down rain throughout the day, it was a blast. It certainly helped that we were strategically positioned between the Clifbar, Maple Water, and Vice Cream tents so that we could keep our nutrition, hydration, and overall happiness levels high!

And starting at 7am, our 1200 athletes began the grueling effort to complete this year’s Boston Triathlon!

bang! and the athletes are off to the races

Although the rain made for slick roads that made the bike segment a bit sketchy, the cooler weather definitely helped the athletes turn out impressive times. In fact, our two athletes, Chris Sanders and Dane Cooper each posted personal records and finished in the top 5 of their age group!

After the race, the athletes and spectators were treated to an amazing party in the beer garden, where we treated ourselves to some hard earned R&R. It was a fun, but long two days and the after-party was the perfect way to cap off the festivities.

Thank you to Mike O’Neil from Ethos and Columbia Threadneedle for putting on this event– it was a fun experience and a great opportunity for people to try on the device and allow us to help them train smarter.
