Attention Hungry Sports Fans: The Yelp of Stadium Food is Here

Tell me you haven’t encountered this problem before if you’re a sports fan: You’re halfway through the game until you realize that you’re hungry, so you go to look for something to eat. Before you know it halftime is over, so you settle on a cold hotdog from a cart and run back to your seat so you don’t miss a thing. It’s happened many times for me, and it’s tough to really memorize every facet of a stadium unless you’re a season pass holder.
That’s where Hungry Fan attempts to help, by listing every food location at a stadium of your choice, sorted by categories. Basically, it’s the Yelp of stadium food. When you find a stadium you want to search, you just click it, and it’ll list every venue possible — whether it’s a food cart or a wine cart.
Once you pare it down to your selection, you’re able to see all of the applicable sections, as well as pricing information — very helpful for weeding out overpriced options. Based on what I confirmed myself, it was fairly accurate, and lifestyle requirements like gluten-free and vegan choices ensure that everyone can find what they want without tons of needless and aimless searching.
One of the only problems comes with the requirement for a sign-up or a Facebook account link. It’s a bit strange that users would have to divulge their personal information and sign-up for yet another account just to get access to information about food. Part of it is because of the social aspect of the app, but many developers have the best of both worlds — optional sign-ups for the social parts and anonymous access for everyone else.
Barring the sign-up snafu, Hungry Fan is pretty much a must-own for any sporting event goer. You basically never know when you’re going to want food at any time, so having this app to flip through on a moment’s notice is ideal.
