Blueberry Martini 2

Think infused booze is something found only at your neighborhood liquor store? Think again! Infusing alcohol with fruit is actually something very easily done at home. And when entertaining friends chez vous for March Madness, you’ll look like such a stud when you serve you own infused drinks. “Oh yeah…have a taste of my own blueberry vodka. Yes, you heard right. I made it myself.” (Read: I am seriously awesome. Bet you’re feeling lucky I invited you over to watch this game, aren’t you?). Here’s a quick and easy recipe for whipping this adult goodness up at home!

Blueberry Martini

Blueberry Vodka Martini

Recipe by of Addie’s Confetti Kitchen

How to infuse:
cup blueberries
16 oz vodka

Directions

Place ½ cup blueberries in an 16 oz ball jar. Fill jar with vodka (brand does not matter — if there is one you like!). Seal lid and store in a cool place (does not need to be refrigerated). 24 hours later your alcohol will be infused.

How to drink:
3 oz blueberry vodka
Ice
dash of lemon juice

Directions

Combine vodka, ice and lemon juice in a shaker. Shake vigorously. Pour into a martini glass and drop in 4 of 5 blueberries from your infused jar.

Adia Benson, known as Addie, was born and raised in Minnesota, where she spent cold winters playing hockey on her frozen over backyard and summers on her brother’s soccer team (the girl is competitive!). Although her career took her to a kitchen, she has remained a sports fan and finds any opportunity to host friends and family around a game. She has worked for the likes of Thomas Keller, Martha Stewart and in culinary innovation for two years at gravitytank in Chicago. She currently lives in Lake Forest, IL with her fiancé, Alex, and puppy, Paisley, and works at Prime Publishing overseeing the production of culinary content for web platforms and testing recipes that will be published in cookbooks beginning in 2017. Addie also runs Addie’s Confetti Kitchen, where, for the next month, she’s helping us make March Madness eats effortless, appetizing, and a whole lot of fun for everyone!
