With the NCAA Final Four Championship game coming up later today, I thought it might be fun to use the hours we have left leading up to the game to walk you through a fun lil’ barhop on the streets of Arlington. The tour will finish up at the AT&T Stadium, just in time to watch UConn take on Kentucky in a matchup of blue and white vs. blue and white. (I just wish one of those blue and whites were my Duke blue and whites).

First stop on this tour takes you to the Flying Fish on Abram Street. Flying Fish specializes in killer baskets of fried shrimp and catfish, with fries and hush puppies on the side. And…fortunately for us, tonight’s pub crawl happens to fall right in the middle of crawfish season, so definitely give the boiled mudbugs a chance with a splash of beer, wine or margaritas, which are all sold here. Click here for the full menu.

Heading west, make a quick right onto Mesquite Street, where you’ll find the Grease Monkey on the left. This place ain’t fancy — it’s a restaurant that serves tallboys in paper bags. The main attraction is the burgers — give the Angry Burger topped with the house special ghost pepper sauce a try. Do note: it’s hot! Add a side of fries or chipotle sweet potato tots and something from the full bar and you’re straight.

If you decide to end your tour here, a shuttle to the arena costs just $5 for the round trip. Parking is available.

If you’re game to continue you, pop into Sherlock’s Baker Street Pub & Grill for a pint or two. And if you’re still hungry, Sherlock’s is known for their bacon-cheese potato skins and beer-battered chicken tenders. Healthy, no. But it’s gameday and that’s your day off! A British pub wouldn’t be complete without more traditional British cuisine such as Scotch eggs or crispy cod, or a Big English Burger with a fried egg, bacon, caramelized onions and cheddar. Pair that with a Black and Tan.

Head here for a Virtual Tour of Sherlock’s.

Leaving Sherlock’s it’s time to make the final stop. Make your way to Cedarland Boulevard where you’ll find the Tailgate Tavern. Aptly named, The Tailgate Tavern is seemingly the closest-in-proximity watering hole to AT&T — and it is therefore a fitting last stop on this bar tour. The Tailgate Tavern features a full bar and a patio, which will surely be packed and which makes Tailgate the place to be pregame. Don’t worry if you don’t have time to order food as the menu of burgers, chili-cheese nachos, chicken quesadillas and the like doesn’t stray too far from what you will soon find inside the stadium.

Thus ended your tour…but if you’re still hungry or thirsty while at AT&T, don’t forget to download The Hungry Fan® App!

Enjoy the game!!!
