The Top 4 Moments of Sochi So Far

Well, we’ve come a long way since the beginning of the games. Despite a few big upsets in some major medal games, we are now sitting 2nd in medal standings overall. Unlike the Russian hockey team, no one is expected to be shipped to Siberia for their performance, and we can take a breath and celebrate all of our accomplishments.

Oshie Overtime

T.J. Oshie took six of the eight shots in the overtime shootout against Russia and sunk four of them-an incredible feat. Move over Superman, America has a new hero that also wears red and blue.

Halfpipe Maiden Maddie

In the inaugural event of Halfpipe Skiing, American Maddie Bowman scored an increible 89 in a calm and collected performance of amazing jumps and spins. In a competition where the ladies were going large and crashes were common, Maddie nailed her runs and took the top of the podium.

Men’s Slopestyle Skiing

We might as well take the entire podium home, seeing as Team USA was the only country standing on it. Joss Christiansen, Gus Kenworthy, and Nick Goepper moved the US up the medal standings and straight into our hearts.

Shred Like Ted

Ted Ligety finally earned his first Olympic Gold medal in a dominating performance over the field. Known for his unbelievable talent, Ted admitted to choking in an earlier race, but brought his game face to the race he’s famous for.

The games may not be over yet, but we already have had some medal moments that will go down in history. We’ve proven that we came to show the world what we are made of, and so far we’ve proven we are made of incredible heart and a whole lot of hardware.
