THF on Live from the Couch

Hi Hungry Fans!

It’s been a while since my last blog, I know. I’ve been attending business school with my STAR family and prepping for several things that are coming up, including tomorrow’s segment for WCBS NY’s “Live from the Couch”!

I’m very excited. Tomorrow I will be meeting The Couch’s co-anchor Lisa Kerney at the Union Square Greenmarket to show her how to successfully shop at a farmers market! It should be lots of fun and educational.

I’m a huge fan of shopping at farmers markets, even more so than places like Whole Foods, simply because the food cannot get any fresher than straight from the farm. It’s incredibly important to know every step in the supply chain of what you eat or put onto or into your body. Buying from the farmer cuts that supply chain down to one step. Plus, I really like being able to ask the farmer himself or herself about his or her product. Who knows better than who grew it (or raised it)?

I’m excited to be venturing into the Union Square farmers market tomorrow with Lisa because we have a huge affinity for sports in common. Lisa used to be a sports anchor for many years, including for MLB Network. So I am sure she more than appreciates good sports food — which is always better when made with fresh, straight-from-the-farm ingredients.
