New year’s resolution — 12 design books to read in 2016

It has become a tradition for me to write down a list of New Year’s resolutions, at the beginning of the year. For the past couple years, my resolutions were all well accomplished.

2015 resolution — yoga:

I participated in the 100 days project and I chose Yoga to be part of my daily routine. The Bhagavad Gita says, “Yoga, is the journey of the self, to the self, through the self.” Yoga helped me begin on a path of self-realization.

2014 resolution — running:

It might be the easiest thing for most people, but it was really challenging for me. I hated running so much and it was the only discipline that I failed during my PE class in college. I got a new pair of running shoes in 2014 and start training for some fun events — Bay to Breakers, Neon Run and City Beer Run. I was able to achieve my goals and during Bay to Breakers I even ran across the city of San Francisco from Embarcadero to Ocean Beach.

2013 resolution — skiing:

I never saw snow growing up. In fact, the city in which I grew up has never had snow. My first attempt at skiing was in Flagstaff, Arizona. I had a terrible experience and I told myself that I would never ever ski again. It was a big challenge for me to overcome the fear. I took ski classes 3 days in a row at Squaw Valley, spent 10+ days on the mountain and at the end of the season I managed to ski down a black-diamond run.
