Why no-one is listening to you

You’re right.
No-one is listening to you.

Why?

Because that mental block around getting your message out into the world is dangling “content” across your to-do list like a noose.

It’s brain freeze time.

If we kick aside the imposter syndrome, the comparison paralysis and the overwhelm just for a moment (after all, in other areas of your biz you have jumped these hurdles a whole ultra marathon ago, and you are heading down the home straight of the leadership long game ) it comes down to this — making the choice to start.

Content creation is a super clunky term for talking to people, which is all I want you to do.

Forget the clamoured cries of the “shoulds”, “coulds”, trends, and must-have apps just for a while.

Put it all aside.

Boil it down to this: Conversations. Often.

Now, doesn’t THAT feel easier?

To stop the stun-gun paralysis (oddly, the same one I get when buying wine, despite 23 years of buying the stuff), just ditch worrying about the trends and say sayonara to the latest SnapFaceChatGram.

Talk. To. Your. Audience.

Have conversations.

Share them.

Repeat.

That brilliant moment you had with a client? Share it.

That framework that appeared in your glorious brain while in the bath/watching Stranger Things 2 / out on a walk? Tell us.

That last question a client asked that you answered so effortlessly?
Tell us about that too.

If you forget the pressure of formats, platforms and process it all becomes easier and you start to talk to the people who need to hear from you — your next clients.

Ok, but where to start? Try these super quick ideas for size:
• Screencast a how-to (like this) using Loom, HYFY, or Vidyard.
• Live stream a thought process on Instagram, Facebook, or Periscope.
• Micro blog a moment on social in stories, Twitter, or Facebook.
• Audio dump an idea into RecUp, Voice Memo, or Voxer.

All the above take 5 minutes max, and cumulatively add up to a LOT of mic drop moments out there in the world, working for you.

Here is the smart part:
Each of the above examples are super quick to do, add insight and value, AND can be re-purposed and up-cycled to do more hard work FOR you.

Pop the screencast into LeadPages and track the views to re-target people who watch it.

Transcribe a live stream, edit, and up-cycle to a blog post, visual content, and social media quotes.

Collate micro blogs to form a longer form blog post.

The EVEN better bit? You, personally, don’t need to do it.

This is where your OBM, VA, or me and my team come in waving our magic wands, handling the “make it happen” part so you stay in your zone of genius.

You need the space to think, to have the cognitive processes that ignite your brilliance.

You need to be actively adding to the conversation with ease, to build an audience, gauge responses to ideas, to synthesise information through your unique lens for your clients, and to make impact — in bite-sized chunks.

The act of creating makes thought leadership easier.

That dialogue, that conversation starts with you.

It’s time to be heard. We need your voice.

Ready to blow up the blueprint?
The Monday mic drop is your very own kickback with flat white and house press; a round-up of thoughts, valuable insights and stories, conversation starters and adventure triggers to get start off your week with some power moves.
