We all want to be successful. We all want to hit the ground running. But when you start a new goal or take on a new venture you’re gonna feel somewhat useless. That’s just the way it is.

I’ve recently turned my attention towards a new goal — hence the drop in activity on Medium over the past few weeks — and it’s safe to say I feel absolutely lost and incapable.

I look at others who are miles ahead of me, people who are in the position I’m dreaming of, and I just don’t know how I’m ever gonna get there.

It feels like they are smarter than me, more intelligent, and much more creative than me.

It has me questioning whether or not to continue or if I should just put this particular idea down to a pipe dream.

Have you ever felt like that?

Of course, I’m gonna continue and not give up but right now, at this moment in time, my confidence is low. But, that’s to be expected, right?

Nobody starts off great at anything — usually.

The superstars of this world, those at the top of their field, all had to take that first step. They all had to go through doubts, struggles, and a hell of a lot of learning to get to the top. Knowing that gives me hope.
