Hustle offers free texting services for COVID-19 outreach

To help governments, NGOs, and elected officials to connect with their communities in the wake of the COVID-19/Coronavirus outbreak, Hustle is offering free use of Hustle’s texting platform (up to 10,000 messages). Organizations can sign up through June 30th, and have through July 31st to use their message allowance.

Qualified U.S. and Canadian federal, state, and local governmental agencies and public health NGOs may use Hustle for outreach activity regarding Covid-19/Coronavirus.

Hustle can be used to:

• Send information and updates about important precautionary measures to at-risk populations
• Send information about Covid-19 testing locations and protocols
• Set up a 10-digit phone number hotline for constituents to text in questions
• Manage 2-way conversations with constituents

Hustle is a peer-to-peer texting service that enables organizations to conduct personal 1:1 texting conversations with their constituents. Hustle is used by governmental agencies and NGOs to reach out to constituents over SMS, including for disaster relief and public education efforts.

Hustle uses normal SMS and MMS messages, and therefore should not be used to communicate personal health (PHI) or other sensitive information. All usage is subject to Hustle’s Acceptable Use Policy and all applicable laws and regulations. Up to 10,000 outbound text messages, and unlimited inbound messages, may be used free of charge.

Both new and existing Hustle clients are eligible to sign up; please follow the steps below if your organization is doing outreach related to COVID-19.

If you are new to Hustle and would like to use the platform:

• Please sign up via this form to get set up on the platform. Once you have completed the form, we will be in touch shortly with steps to get started!

If you are an existing Hustle client, this support also applies to your organization.

• Please sign up via this form to let us know you are launching outreach. Note we’ll need to create a separate Hustle org for your COVID-19 work.
