Today we are proud to announce Hustle’s $8M Series A financing led by Social Capital.

This funding marks an important milestone for Hustle’s mission to strengthen organizations by scaling genuine relationships. We’re honored to deepen our relationship with our seed investors, and thrilled to bring eight new world-class investors into the Hustle family.

Since Hustle started in 2014, we’ve helped our clients conduct more than 38 million personal, one-to-one texting conversations with more than 25 million people across the United States, Canada, and Australia. Hustle lets organizations initiate and manage these conversations to accomplish essential goals like raising money, increasing event attendance, and recruiting volunteers.

Our product and business were forged during the 2016 election cycle, helping scale and humanize the way that hundreds of campaigns, particularly the Bernie Sanders campaign, communicated with voters and supporters. In the wake of the election, we’ve continued to grow and expand our ability to support grassroots advocacy through our work with clients like Planned Parenthood, as empowering citizens to participate in the political process matters more than ever.

This year, we’ve learned that Hustle’s special sauce works equally well for colleges and universities looking to authentically engage with their alumni. We’ve helped Amherst College double their participation rates in a young alumni fundraising campaign, and helped Spelman College surpass their Founder’s Day giving goals. In an age of bots and blasts, the intimacy of Hustle’s personal text messaging platform stands apart.

In the years ahead, we think that humanizing communication is something that all institutions and relationship-driven businesses should be doing with Hustle. This funding will enable us to pursue our vision of a world where organizations of all kinds are meaningfully and personally connected to their communities.

We’re humbled to partner with each world-class firm investing in Hustle’s Series A: Social Capital, Canvas Ventures, Designer Fund, Salesforce Ventures, Foundation Capital, GSV Acceleration, Higher Ground Labs, Index Ventures, Kapor Capital, Matrix Partners, New Media Ventures, Omidyar Network, and Twilio.org Impact Fund (for whom we are proud to be their inaugural investment.)

We all share a vision of Hustle as a category-defining communications platform for which positive social impact and business success go hand in hand, built by a team representative of the humanity we serve.

We have much important work ahead of us. If you are interested in joining us on our mission, please check out our career opportunities in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and New York.

It’s time to Hustle.
