Forget what the memes say — Millennials don’t just want avocado toast and Gen Zers don’t just want to eat Tide Pods. As they machete their way through the thick vines and brambles of today’s oversaturated digital landscape, what they’re truly craving are personalized experiences and authentic interactions that offer a welcome reprieve from all the noise. So how can brands position themselves as a clearing in the forest instead of just more of the same?

Heroically entering stage right: two things. 1. a unique brand voice, and 2. chat marketing. Let’s discuss.

🥑 What’s in a (Brand) Voice?

Having a distinctive voice is crucial for a brand because it sets them apart, helping them establish a memorable presence in a crowded room (or marketplace). When a brand consistently communicates with a distinct voice, it not only captures the attention of potential customers, it also inspires a feeling of trust and familiarity in them.

Picture this: you’re at a boring party just twiddling your thumbs by the punch bowl, when suddenly you hear a good friend’s voice from across the room and you know it’s them before you’ve even turned around and immediately — you breathe a sigh of relief.

And like a good friend’s voice transcends a ho hum cocktail hour and makes you smile, a unique brand voice transcends mere marketing messages and enhances the emotional connection between the brand and its audience. And this emotional resonance goes beyond transactional interactions; it taps into the human element of consumer behavior (a.k.a. the driving force behind a brand’s bottom line.)

🍞 Did Someone Say Human Element?

Chat marketing has entered the, well, chat.

a/s/l? (jk)

Here at Huxly, we’re conversational design experts and massive proponents of something called chat marketing (our chat marketing experiences are called OneOnOnes ✨). Chat marketing leverages the capabilities of automation and real-time messaging to allow brands to have personalized, one-on-one conversations with their audiences at scale. And one of its many (many) strengths is that chat marketing is an incredible way to enhance and amplify a brand’s unique voice. Through authentic interactions and real-time engagement, it injects life into brand messaging, making it relatable, memorable, and deeply human.

🍽 So What’s The Payoff?

It’s like this: brands that recognize the human element of consumer behavior and foster a deep emotional connection with their audience inspire repeat customers and loyal brand advocates. And by breathing life into their unique brand voice via a chat marketing experience, brands can deliver on all of the above while creating memorable moments that cut through the digital noise and delight even the most discerning Millennial or Gen Zer. (What’s up, Gen Xers 🙌 we love you, too! Just be happy you haven’t been saddled with a reductive, food-related meme. 😒)

In essence:

a unique brand voice + chat marketing = sustainable revenue + longterm success
