Form builder

Here at Hivemind we’re always looking for ways to reduce the amount of code you need to write when creating tasks and collecting data. We want to make the process as simple and quick as possible; after all, not everyone wants to spend time writing code.

So, we’re excited to announce the launch of our form builder in Hivemind Studio. Previously to create a task you needed to edit or write JSON Schema directly to create the forms used for collection. With this release, you can now use a graphical designer to craft the form’s fields and layout with basic validation available too.

The tool is available in the ‘Output’ tab of task creation, and not to worry, you can still edit JSON Schema for advanced use cases if you wish. Please give it a try and as always, let us know what you think!

An influx of users

We’re delighted to say that over the last couple of months we’ve seen a large increase in the number of task creators and contributors using Hivemind, spanning multiple time zones.

To support our current user base and make sure we’re ready for more growth in the future, we’ve taken this release as an opportunity to improve the performance of Hivemind Studio, Hivemind API and Hivemind Workbench. You should see an increase in responsiveness across the platform as a result, but there are more changes to come in this space.

Other changes

By user request, we have added a new parameter, ‘sinceUtc’ to the API call to download results since a date/time. This will facilitate the creation of more efficient workflows with Hivemind by allowing you to download only the deltas from your results and not the entire result set as previously required. This is particularly useful where you have a long-running task and want to process results as they become available.
