One of the most important factors leading Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers into a blockbuster is the fascinating plots, which gives out a strong sense of participation for players.

Firstly, it reveals some foreshadowing buried in all expansions before. G’raha Tia who slept inside the Crystal Tower from a side quest in A Realm Reborn got awake and supported us against the Flood of Light as The Crystal Exarch. We also knew where Minfilia went with Adbert’s group in Heavensword, and the key secret hidden deep in this planet was told by Emet-Selch who played as a mysterious behind boss in Stromblood. All these follow-ups connect together to show a more sophisticated story.

Secondly, it’s also successful in shaping vivid figures. In Shadowbringers there is no definite justice or evil, and most characters both have rich background stories and distinct personalities, and the top 3 most welcomed NPCs feel like just around us.

Last but not lease, plenty of details filled in each corner inside the game trigger players’ emotions easily. For example, some hidden plots which are not mentioned much during the main quests are put into some small interactive points around a maze in a form of diaries from the future. Once players read this, they may be touched by those plain but sincere words.
