April went by in a flash, but with it came several exciting news and releases. In this monthly recap we will cover the ongoing development of our Web3 wallet as well as the new bridge calculator and the release of our DAO Forum!

Hydranet Web3 Wallet

The NOVA release last month was a huge success! A huge thanks to all the testers who have provided valuable and positive feedback! We have now compiled a playlist of YouTube Shorts where you can get a fast overview of the NOVA features! There is also a release video available, or the full deep diving article for the interested!

The development continues, with lots of exciting implementations, including the Lithium Protocol (covered in a separate topic). The StorJ cloud storage provider node has been implemented into the Hydra App module, now ready for internal testing. StorJ will enable users to back up their channel states in the cloud, to increase security for the end user by eliminating a single point of storage. This important change will enable users to reconnect with their existing channels across multiple devices, whereas previously the channels would get force closed. The Channel Rental Manager is moving along nicely in development, with new functionality for closing and extending channels added this month.

And the usual bug fixes and improvements are going according to plan. The majority of reported bugs are being resolved quickly.

Lithium Protocol and May AMA

The very exciting implementation of the Lithium protocol has been making its way into the Web3 wallet as implementation has begun, and with the “Lithium Indexer” almost complete. The Lithium Indexer will keep track of all on-chain activities such as channel openings, closings, deposits and withdrawals. We are counting on having a first alpha version of Lithium functional in early May with an updated version, including multi-hub routing, finished by the end of May. Lithium is currently being tested internally before the rollout to closed beta testers.

We will host an AMA shortly after the publication of this monthly recap article, by the start of May, where we will do a deep dive into Lithium to explore the framework and capabilities of Lithium in conjunction with the Web3 wallet.

Hydranet Core DEX

The Core DEX has seen the following improvements this month:

  • Released a new wallet version with minor UI fixes
  • Added Arbitrum-ETH/ETH trading pair (bridge trading pair)
  • Rolled out a new LSSD and Vortex bot implementation to Beta testers
  • LSSD / Vortex is running smoothly, added more closed beta testers
  • It will also be distributed to SIVA and Make It to possibly onboard first third parties.

Bridge Calculator and article

By the end of April, the new Bridge Calculator saw the light of day! The Bridge Calculator is a simple to use tool where you can display how much an address could have saved on previously executed bridge transactions — simply input the address in the address field and press calculate! Don’t worry if you have not executed any bridge transactions, you can look up any EVM addresses, like this example: 0xfb5797d758c22c773925b0a64f227494490c0fca

We have just published an extensive article where you can read all about why you and any crypto user will benefit by bridging with Hydranet: Read it here!

DAO & DAO Forum

The launch of the DAO forum is finally here! This is a hub for everyone involved with Hydranet, community members and developers alike. The forum will allow anyone to submit proposals, discuss them and heat check proposals by up voting and down voting. The platform is also a prime location to collaborate, discuss, propose changes and influence decision-making and the general direction of the project! At the time of writing, the first proposal on the platform is already live. Check it out over at https://forum.hydranet.ai/

With the launch of the new forum we appreciate any feedback regarding the platform and kindly remind you that there may be minor bugs and issues with the interface.

A total of $60k in USD-stablecoins from the Treasury have been provided on the Open Source Liquidity Protocol Aave as liquidity, yielding passive income in return.

This month, DAO Proposal #30 was passed by the voters. The proposal vows to allocate 5 million HDN from the Hydranet DAO Vault to the DAO Treasury, in order to fund ongoing and future development. Moreover the internal roadmap for 2024 has been outlined and updated.

Marketing and Community

The public roadmap for 2024 has received an update to the development state of q1, but we are currently working on a bigger roadmap update including new goals and details, with updated progress of the current development underway. Check out the current state of the roadmap here and keep an eye out on our social channels for further updates.

Moving along, a trading competition for the Core DEX is being prepared for our beloved community!
