As the first week of June comes to a close, we are excited to share our recent updates and progress with our community. As always, we sincerely thank all of you for your support as we continue to grow!

Product & Development

DDEX, the first Hydro Protocol based 0x Relayer, has added some awesome improvements over the past week:

Added Korean as a language option.

Added a wallet verification step to better ensure privacy for each user’s individual order information and transaction history.

Added a token ticker and project full name at Navigation bar, along with the project contract address on etherscan.

Optimized WAP verification.

Optimized 1-day trading chart.

In the past week on DDEX, we have seen increases in the following user-based statistics:

Total number of logged in accounts: +3.8%
Approve/WRAP/Unwrap transactions: +5.08%
Buy/Sell transactions: +9.46%
Accounts with 1st transaction: +4.30%
Accounts with 1st Wrap ETH: +4.71%

Hydro in Conferences

Beijing | 2018 Ethereum Technolgy and Application Conference

CEO of Hydro Protocol, Tian Li, was invited to give a talk, titled “Peer-to-peer Trading Protocol— How to Empower 100 DAPP Exchanges”, at the 2018 Ethereum Technology and Application Conference.

On the speech, Tian Li discussed the top 3 issues in current DEX development: liquidity, usability, and high opportunity cost. Naturally, Hydro Protocol aims to solve all 3 problems:

Usability: The Hydro Protocol matching algorithm allows for a similar usability experience to centralized exchanges, but with even fewer steps (no depositing or withdrawing required). Our designers are improving the product usability constantly.
High opportunity cost: set up open source code to reduce the technical threshold for building DEX
Liquidity: Hydro based liquidity pools will continue to improve through market making and liquidity providing incentives, liquidity sharing among Hydro based dex’s, and the ability to tailor a dex to a specific audience.

As well, we were very excited to present at the largest developer community in China. Vitalik Buterin, founder of ethereum, also attended and gave the talk in a panel at the same event!

The Conference covers topics including trends of Ethereum technology, Ethereum ecology, Ethereum community, and economy. It was a great opportunity for us to connect more closely with the large and vibrant Chinese developer community.

Seoul | Blockchain Open Forum-June 28–29,2018

Blockchain Open Forum (BOF) is organized by Token Post. TokenPost is the №1 Blockchain media in Korea with over 350k monthly readership. It is a leading provider of news and analysis on trends, technologies, and companies in the blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency market.

TokenPost is also the most active community event organizer in Seoul. It hosts 4–6 Meetups for global and local projects every month and has collectively hosted over 50 Meetups in the last 12 months.

2018 Blockchain Open Forum (BOF) will focus on the future of blockchain businesses — BOF has a panel specifically for decentralized exchanges as they are envisioned as the future of the exchange ecosystem.

Bowen Wang, co-founder of Hydro Protocol, was invited by Blockchain Open Forum (BOF) as a speaker. We will provide additional updates when we have more details on his speech!

Meet our new member!

We are very happy to have Yang Guo joining the development team as our Token Economics Researcher. Yang Guo is a PhD in Engineering from Tsinghua university. Yang is also the 5th member of Asian Blockchain DACA Association. The Asian Blockchain DACA Association, established in September 2014, is one of the most influential associations in the blockchain world. It is a blockchain version of the “ Whampoa Military Academy ”.

Hydro is a network layer protocol for high performance decentralized exchanges and marketplaces with built-in incentives for coordination. Hydro utilizes’Federated Liquidity Pools’ (FLP) to address the issue of liquidity sharing among various decentralized exchanges.
