Yesterday, to kick off Hydro Blocktoberfest, we announced that Hydrogen has joined the ERC-725 alliance, a long-term initiative to collaborate with other projects to make the best and most open financial services identity platform.

Today, on day two of Hydro Blocktoberfest, we would like to provide some insight into a prototype of the end state of the Hydro App. Everyone has seen the awesome v1.4 that is currently in the app stores:

P

But, what might an end state v4 app, with all phases of Hydro complete, look like? Let’s take a look at an early prototype:

You will notice a few additions:

  1. HYDRO wallet integration with balance, ability to top up the HYDRO balance to use with connected dApps, and send HYDRO. Much more to come on all of these features when the Tide whitepaper is released.
  2. Linked dApps connect to the Hydro dApp store. In this prototype, we show a few examples for documents, KYC, and remittance. A business that integrates the Hydro app would instruct the end user to link one of the dApps available in the store, much like they would off-chain to perform the same functions.
  3. (a) On the bottom of the app (from left to right) is the user’s Snowflake. Below is an early iteration of a Snowflake identicon, that uniquely identifies the user in a fun and cryptographically sound way.

In the Snowflake section, the user will be able to find all of the apps that have used an attestation or validation (stored on chain) about them and where they will receive alerts for companies requesting access to their Snowflake. This will include Mist based machine learning anti-identity theft alerts using Hydrogen’s machine learning library Ion.

(b) Next to Snowflake the user can find Ice. This will be deployed in v3 of the Hydro App. Here they will find all of the documents that have been signed, sealed, stamped, or escrowed in a smart contract. We will have screenshot samples of this very soon.

(c) Next to Ice the user can find Raindrop. This is currently deployed in v1 of the Hydro app. In this section, the user can access all of the sites that have linked the Client-Side Raindrop. Every time the user needs to authenticate themselves, they can perform the Raindrop check on the blockchain through this part of the app.

(d) Finally, next to Raindrop is the Tide icon. This will be deployed in v4 of the Hydro app. Here the user can see all of the P2P and dApp payments they have made with HYDRO. We will have some big announcements during Hydro’s Blocktoberfest on product and partnerships being worked on here, so stay tuned!

Although this is just a first generation prototype, we hope this gives the Hydrogen dev community an idea of the power of the Hydrogen ecosystem when fully realized!

Tomorrow we will have another update, leading up to our Blocktoberfest event on October 25th.
