The Hydro team provides updates on Hydrogen’s blockchain and decentralization efforts, including the Hydro API and Hydro smart contracts.

It has been a bit of a hectic week in the Hydrogen offices with the steam pipe explosion. Here is what we have been up to:

1. We have officially released our Android and iOS Hydro apps!
It has been a long and challenging process, but we are really excited to see people using it on the Ethereum Mainnet. Thanks again to everyone on the team who helped make this possible. It really was a team effort. Make sure to reach out to your favorite websites and ask for them to implement raindrop security!

2. Noah has been hard at work on a slack bot. This bot is for internal use and gives us important updates on the API and Hydro App. Right now it monitors gas prices so we can get an alert if they get too high and it monitors account balances in case they get too low.

3. I have been working to finalize websockets in our API. This addition will allow for a much smoother user process. The main bottleneck now is just making sure that this is something which is easy to implement for a website. In its current form, it is not a trivial task to set up websocket support. We are hoping to remedy this by the end of next week. You can expect to see updated documentation for websockets in the next few weeks.

4. Alongside this, I have continued to make improvements to our MyCrypto fork. I anticipate that next week we will put up a PR to the MyCrypto Github. I just want to make sure that the user flow is easy and intuitive before we do that. We are excited to be able to release the first desktop wallet where the funds are protected by 2FA!

That’s all for this week. Hopefully next week we will be writing this from our office instead of my bedroom!
