HypeDAO is an international NFT artist collective that supports small artists and community projects. We regularly host art contests, Twitter Spaces, and are collaborating and expanding our work in the NEAR creative ecosystem. Message HypeDAO on any of our platforms and we will send you a link to open a NEAR wallet with some start-up funds and a special welcome POAP. (POAPs are limited so get one while they last!)
If you are new to crypto here are some wallet safety tips:
Your wallet is not a bank account, but it needs to be secured like you secure bank accounts and PIN codes. Your pass phrase is your password. Keep it safe because it is not recovered as easily as a password. In case of hacking, do not keep a large sum of crypto in your wallet. You will need a small amount in your wallet for transaction fees but plan on transferring any crypto that you do not need to a crypto exchange to cash out or to a Defi (decentralized finance) platform to invest. DO NOT ever use your wallet to log into a help or customer support app. This is a common scam. There are no customer service, help, or support teams that need you to log in with your wallet for help or customer service. Watch for the permissions when you log in with your wallet. If something looks strange or seems unusual, don’t do it.
NEAR tokens are available on several different crypto exchanges, and which one you can use depends on your country. Find an available crypto exchange here: https://wallet.near.org/buy
Alternatively, you can purchase a stablecoin like USDT at any exchange and then transfer it to another exchange with NEAR tokens, trade for NEAR, and then transfer it to your NEAR wallet.
To cash out any NEAR you earn just do the same process in reverse.

The-Auction.io — secondary sales platform with only auctions of NFTs from other platforms
Naksh.org — fine art NFTs with physical art pieces from artists in India working in traditional art forms
NativoNFT.app — Latin American regional NFT platform featuring exclusive collections from Latin American artists
Each site has its own rules, process, UI, and community. Please take some time to get to know each platform, and engage with the community. Mint on as many platforms as you like. NEAR is still a small community, so many people mint on multiple platforms.

The NEAR ecosystem has a vibrant creative community of DAOs. A DAO is a decentralized autonomous organization, run using a smart contract. It allows for democratic voting that is recorded on the blockchain, so there is transparency and accountability. Whether you are a creator, collector, curator, or a little bit of each the Creatives DAO is the main creative community where the creative DAOs gather. You can participate in community events, join an existing DAO, or create a new one.

DAOs and other NEAR community members will post their art and design contests, gigs, and jobs, open calls for talent in the NEAR community. Open Web Sandbox is another place that NEAR community members can search and find a variety of open calls for talent, including artists. Join the Telegram groups and Discord servers for any NEAR DAOs and communities to get updates on their opportunities!
