The days of operating a business only with the internet will soon be a thing of the past.

Last decade, the idea of a business running without the internet, especially a restaurant or retail business, was unthinkable.

Yet, over the last few years “offline connectivity” has become a trendy path to the next “Big Thing”, much of it only meaning that information was “Stored Forward” if the internet was down and information & transactions were kept stored until connectivity was restored and then it would continue to be transmitted.

Today, the way restaurants and retail POS systems send information will be fundamentally and significantly improved. Connecting devices when the internet is down is called peer-to-peer. This P2P mode allows devices to connect directly without the internet.

Traditionally when two devices are about to connect, even if they are next to each other, the information, data or transaction must go up to a server and then come back down to transmit to the other device. Then a new way stepped in: an “offline mode” where information would be stored & forward until connectivity was back on.

Today, there is a new improvement to this POS business, a way to redefine connectivity. It’s a software being launched by a company called Hypelabs, creators and owner of the patent giving POS companies the ability to connect all of their devices directly to each other independently of a server. It can be used at all times, even when the POS is offline in order to improve the efficiency to sync information across all business devices. That way if the connection is ever lost, syncing is ongoing as if the business were still online.

With the HypeLabs software, you establish P2P connectivity between devices to form a local ad-hoc mesh network using the built-in wireless technology. The devices have connectivity, independent of Wi-Fi connection and human mobility. As long as one device in the network is connected to the internet, the information of the devices can be relayed to the cloud or even to other local systems.

The transition to a fully digital business operation for restaurants, caterers, and retailers is still in the making. So whether you are a newcomer or you’re an established operator, the transition to this new decade without internet is turning into a must. and the best news is that it’s evolving to this new digital stage in full force and easier than ever. The HypeLabs technology will help provide a seamless real-time experience to customers and improve with the significance of business efficiency.
