Presidential Candidates as Alcoholic Drinks
Ever wonder which alcohol best represents some of our presidential candidates?!
Here we have most of the candidates and a description that hopefully gives some insight into their personalities.
Rand Paul = Absinthe (American)
As most libertarians might say, Ron Paul is the purist, while Rand Paul is the slightly mellower version of his father. Similar to how we can’t get the strong absinthe in Europe, we have a version in the US with a lower alcohol content, but it’s still a strong alcohol comparatively.
Rick Perry = Lone Star Beer
As the good ole’ boy, a nice simple Texas beer suits Rick Perry perfectly. Nothing too fancy, but a staple in Texas.
Ted Cruz = Vodka
Vodka in general is a good mixer alcohol that can be used in most drinks. Ted Cruz seems to be a candidate that most people seem to like, whether he’s their favorite or not, most don’t hate him. Same thing with vodka, a lot of people pick it as their alcohol of choice, most are fine with it and very few hate it. Notice the vodka choice above, made in Texas and handmade. Handmade because Ted Cruz comes across as someone that’s been wanting to be a President for a long time, and he’s done a lot of studying and work to get here.
Carly Fiorina = Riesling
Carly brings that female sweetness to the Republican field, so a Riesling wine suits her best. Not too sweet and mushy like a Moscato wine, a Riesling still has a kick to it, and with Carly’s background as a powerful CEO of HP and not holding back in calling out Hillary, she has a nice kick as well!
Hillary Clinton = Tequila (w/the worm at the bottom)
So you think you’re having a grand ole time, enjoying some tequila that can really get a party going, but watch out what bottle you bought, you might just end up with only a worm at the end of it.
Donald Trump = Champagne (In a Gold Bottle)
I think this is pretty self-explanatory, whatever drink is the most expensive and in a gold bottle, that’s Donald Trump.
Marco Rubio = Grand Marnier
It’s not hard to see Senator Rubio as Grand Marnier. It’s a liquor that tastes great by itself and can make any mixed drink a little tastier. He is a lot of people’s first choice for President, but also most people would be happy with him as the VP candidate as well. A good all-around favorite.
Bobby Jindal = Southern Comfort
By virtue of the name Southern Comfort it sounds just right to represent Bobby Jindal. A candidate that brings a lot of cool and calm to the race and is great at answering questions about anything. Also, the recipe for Southern Comfort came from New Orleans, and since Bobby Jindal is Governor of Louisiana, that too makes this fitting.
Scott Walker = Whiskey
Well, somebody had to be whiskey! There are a lot of classic American whiskeys, and Scott Walker is a good all-American guy that a lot of people love. I made sure to pick a whiskey made in Wisconsin since he is the Governor of that mid-west state.
Chris Christie = Flask
I see Chris Christie as a mysterious flask because you may not know what the contents of it are, but when someone brings one out, you know it means a good time! As Chris Christie’s slogan says, he is known for “telling it like it is”. This also means that it’s quite common for you to get a good laugh in when he makes his bold and blunt statements!
Bernie Sanders = Grain Alcohol
Bernie Sanders is no more than a cheap grain alcohol. Nothing fancy because let’s face it, nobody should have anything better than anyone else. This is a cheap alcohol that will get the job done, and nobody really likes it, but since we need to make sure everyone can equally get alcohol, this is only thing you might be lucky enough for the government to afford you.
Jeb Bush = O’Douls
You think you’re getting beer, but instead….. you’re getting only a tiny smidgen of alcohol.
Mike Huckabee = NO Alcohol
I can’t assign Governor Huckabee an alcohol, because he doesn’t drink! And although he isn’t the only one that stays away from liquor, I felt this was most appropriate for him.
