Mopo’s House
The effects of the salamander tea resemble nothing else seen in this world. The salamanders that go into making the tea contain a hidden property that only Mopo knows about: the memories of past lives from various individuals who’ve since perished. Mopo has tried to research how this happens, but none of his experiments have yielded results. No one Mopo has talked to about these salamanders has had any information about them. The salamanders resonate with a crystalline shard that Mopo fashioned into a necklace. No one knows where the shard came from, not even the shopkeeper Mopo bought it from. Was it fate for Mopo to obtain the shard and begin catching these elusive salamanders? Time shall tell.
From where Mopo is sitting, his favorite couch, there exist several parts of his quaint home. Behind him was the kitchen area, which was quite large though mostly filled with boxes and trinkets alike. Mopo is a skilled alchemist and is self-taught; few alchemists exist in his world and most lived before Mopo’s time. The boxes in his kitchen vary in size and are filled with all kinds of plant and animal parts. To the right of the couch is the door to his bedroom and a small closet door. The closet holds many household items for cleaning and repairs as well as some clothes hung up on hangars made of blue-tinted wood. Like most objects in the house, the hangars were made by Mopo himself. Out little adventurer is quite crafty!
Mopo’s bedroom is about the same size as the living room, but half the size of the kitchen. Mopo enjoyed his bed more than any other possession he owned, save a few, as he painstakingly crafted it himself over the course of a few months. The bed floated in place, unending, due to the magnetized spheres on the floor and the four corners of the bed frame. The spheres were firmly held in the mouths of baby drake skulls. Mopo found these skulls in a series of tunnels a few hundred miles south of his home.
The cloth used for the bed sheets are made of a rare silk; Mopo traded a baby drake skull for it. The shops’ name is Tetra and is located in the nearest city Briga. Mopo would often visit Briga when he found rare items that he felt would be better to sell than use. Although Mopo mostly fended for himself, he knew the value of currency and frequently obtained some to use for emergencies. Mopo’s money box was located under his bed, which is only obtainable by putting a magical field around one’s body to interdict the magnetic field at the base of the bed. Mopo uses a similar magnetic lock on his home when he goes away for a day.
To the left of the living room is Mopo’s bathroom. Mopo’s house was originally constructed from the remains of a temple. The bathroom was built over the remains, but, the remains were restored using a Süddo spell that Mopo took from a chamber in Briga Castle. Mopo has overheard what the spell did, took it and ran away. Due to the nature of the spell, only Mopo is permitted within the room. If Mopo is seriously injured or under attack he can retreat to the sanctuary.
The actual shape of Mopo’s house resembles any ordinary forest shack: rectangular in shape, several square windows and a pointed roof with a chimney stack. The reason for the simplistic design is not due to society, rather a strange fact that Mopo likes its simplistic shape for some reason.
“You’re the one who’s strange!” Mopo grimaced and crossed his arms with a quick glance upward.
“Stupid Narrator, doesn’t realize that not everything has to be uniquely designed. There’s enough diversity in form and function in this world. What’s wrong with a little simplicity, eh!? Dumb-fuck Narrator.”
Dumb-fuck cat.
“Hey!”
You could tell Mopo was getting a little angry. His emotions seem to wander in varied directions, as wild as the oceans waves.
“Bleh, enough of this. I’m gonna go see what’s hip-hop-happening at the Cat Café!”
Mopo hopped off the meditation couch, jumped into his fighting boots, slapped on his coat, gauntlets, hat and grabbed a wide broadsword off the shelf of which he called Skull. One can only guess why he calls it that.
