Dear community,

We are pleased to inaugurate the first post in our Tech Updates series!
This series will concentrate its efforts on presenting factual product developments, vetted by the engineers from our Tech Department and approved officially by HyperCycle.
Today, we will present the Compute Era of HyperCycle.

Spoiler alert:

  • Compute is READY to be released in Phase 1 and the whole community will be able to make use of it on HyperPG’s dApp,
  • Tilling-as-a-service is now in Stage 2 and will integrate Proof of Computation,
  • Tilling Nodes is now faster than doing it on Uptime alone, thus accelerating every Node owner’s ability to split Nodes.

I- What we mean by Compute

At this stage of development, ‘Compute’ refers to the incorporation of Proof of Computation into the ratio calculation of the Node’s score.

Today, we are excited to announce that this feature has been successfully developed and will be applicable in Phase 1 of HyperCycle’s Compute Era.

A direct consequence of this development is that the Tilling of Nodes will accelerate! This is because the Proof of Computation will now also be included in the calculated ratios that determine each Node’s score, which will reduce the time needed for the Nodes to reach the value of 2 and therefore unlock the next layer of Nodes.

II- Tilling-as-a-service, Stage 2

Consequently to the initiation of Compute Phase 1, our Tilling-as-a-service will implement Proof of Computation in the monitoring of the Nodes’ ratios.

HyperPG’s dApp will act as a delegating platform for hardware, allowing everyone to activate and Till their own Nodes for both Uptime and Computation.

We aim to make the Proof of Computation as decentralised as possible in the long run. However, recognizing the excitement around quickly beta testing Compute for all our communities, we will roll out access to Compute Phase 1 in two steps.

STEP A: Integrating HyPC and Licences to create the c_HyPC and initiate Tilling on HyperPG’s DApp

At this step, all Licence and HyPC owners will be allowed to activate their Nodes on the HyperPG dApp, allowing everyone to:

1- Access to licences purchased on Cryptopia and Nodemarket, enabling their use on HyperPG’s dApp. Our Tech Department is coordinating with Nodemarket and Cryptopia to facilitate this access.

2- Utilise the dApp: Here, you will pair your HyPC with your Node Licences to create the c_HyPC pointer, necessary for activating the native HyPC. The developers are currently implementing updates on the UI.

3- Gain access, within HyperPG’s dApp, to an interface to effectively activate the Node and initiate Tilling

4- Access a comprehensive tutorial covering steps 1, 2, and 3, available in both text and video formats.

Those tutorials will cover the technicalities behind the License Split, Merge, Levels, c_HyPC and other HyperCycle terminologies.

As users progressively activate Tilling Stage 2 on their Nodes, our Tech Department continues developing the subsequent step: enabling decentralised Tilling Stage 2 on the network of HyperAiBoxes.

STEP B: Tilling on our Decentralised network of HyperAiBoxes

The next major and exciting phase will enable non-HyperAIBox owners to delegate Tilling across the network of HyperAiBoxes. An additional benefit of this feature is its role as a redundancy service.

This means that we will enable each active node owner on the network to request multiple boxes to manage Tilling Stage 2 on their behalf. This will ensure continuity by drastically reducing the risk of losing Proof of Uptime and Proof of Computation during any disconnection/reconnection processes, should any Tilling HyperAiBox go offline.

To become fully operational, this feature will necessitate several UI and software updates, which will be delivered directly to the operational HyperAIBoxes. We will share updates on this progress in a future Tech Update post.

Now, time to answer some questions coming from community members!

III- Community Q&A

Each Tech Update will cover questions that are asked on our various social media and collected by our beloved HyperSquad members. The answers are coming directly from the Tech Department who are at the forefront of HyperCycle’s development.

Q- Is there a timeline for eligibility of unvested tokens for marriage

There are ongoing discussions to enable the unvested tokens from the SDAO community into HyperPG. We will detail the specifics of this once this is solidified.

Q- Regarding running the node on our own hardware, are there plans for a github repo with docker images we can load or will this be a binary stack we build with a guide?

There will be a github repo and an associated install guide. A Docker image is possible, but is not guaranteed at this point, as there is already heavy use of Docker inside the HyperCycle node. Our engineers are currently exploring various options around the installation process.

Q- Will there be a web based dashboard we can access to see our node performance, reputation, earned rewards, AI images, etc?

The Node Manager administrative suite is a web portal hosted within the HyperCycle Node itself, and is accessible to the node operator.

In conclusion, we are extremely excited to have launched Compute in Phase 1. We eagerly await seeing all of you activate your Node licences and HyPC within a Node, and commence Tilling Stage 2!
