Dear Community,

We’ll open the node staking function for all mainnet HYN holders to start initiating tomorrow, so today, we’ll quickly go through the steps of how to operate and participate a Map3 node together. In the second part, we’ll get a clear head of what rewards Map3 nodes will obtain by re-staking, and how to retrieve it when following the concept of epoch?

In the meantime, if you need more details about the key notices before launching a mainnet Map3 node, check our previous article here.

Map3 Node Operator

Step1: Create Map3 node (ensure you have sufficient balance in Atlas-HYN wallet account. Each holder can create multiple Map3 nodes)

Step2: Set a name and noumber for your Map3 node (in case your name already exists)

Step3: Also you can describe your node to attract more micro-stakers (such as lower management fee, being a responsible operator, etc.)

Step4: The minimal staking requirement for a Map3 node is 10% (550k HYN for initiator in scaling period 1), & minimal staking for the initiator is 5.5k HYN.

Step5: Set management fee (commission) between 10% — 20%. minimal commission fee is 10%, while maximal fee can vary based on your staking ratio. (if you stake 15% into the Map3 node, max. commission fee is 15%; if you stake 30%, max. commission fee tops at 20%)

Step6: Operator needs to confirm all the above details and initiate the node

Note: Initiator can retrieve partial staking amount when completing the 7 day-lock-up requirement before a node starts running. Check mainnet Map3 node staking for the retrieval details. Your requested amount will be declined if it exceeds the remaining requirement.

Map3 Node Delegator

Step1: Delegate to one of the Map3 nodes. To get higher rewards, delegators should select a node currently with lower staking amount, while being able to occupy a higher staking ratio in the node for higher rewards.

Step2: Min. required amount for each delegation is 0.1% (at least 550 HYN in scaling period 1). Note: delegator can stake multiple times to a single node to accelerate the node initiation.

Step3: Delegators can also retrieve stakings before a node starts running. The difference is delegators must check the remaining lock-up period that changes with each additional delegation.

Withdraw Re-staking rewards

Step1: Initiate the node. When there’s sufficient staking within the Map3 node, the node will be immediately initiated.

Step2: Each map3 node only get PoS rewards by re-staking to an Atlas node as PoW is under development. Map3 node operator will decide which Atlas node to stake to.

Step3: After having re-staked to an Atlas node, then Map3 node participants can check the re-staking status and details on Atlas page.

Step4: When the next epoch begins, successful re-staking will immediately take effect. Time length of each epoch is calculated based on blocks produced. 1 epoch = 14400 blocks, approximate = 24 hours. Pls note, everyone should check in Titan for exactly how long before the next epoch will begin.

Step5: After re-staking takes effect, block rewards will be delivered to each Atlas node at the speed of approx. 2 HYNs every 6 secs. Map3 node operators can withdraw real-time rewards to the Map3 node account, and distribute it pro-rata to each participant’s staking, after deducting the management fee.

Step 6: At the end of each epoch, the Map3 node initiator can change their mind to re-stake to another Atlas node. But for now, it doesn’t make big differences, since all 88 Atlas nodes share the same staking reward.
