Binance Chain Migration Plan for Hyperion
Hyperion on Binance Chain
Binance Chain is the blockchain system that powers Binance Coin (BNB) and Binance DEX, the decentralized exchange feature developed on top of the Binance Chain blockchain. The community-driven project is initially developed by Binance, the leading global cryptocurrency exchange and its community, with developers and contributors from around the world. We believe that Binance DEX is a key leader in the industry’s long-term vision of peer-to-peer trading, which ultimately provides greater autonomy of assets. As such, we have decided to migrate our token onto the Binance Chain.
Binance Migration Plan
- 25/06/2019 — Hyperion issues HYN(BEP2) and locks up 100% of total supply. The amount issued mirrors HYN(ERC20) maximum total supply (10,000,000,000 HYN). You can view HYN(BEP2) through the Binance Chain browser (https://explorer.binance.org/asset/HYN-F21)
- 04/07/2019 — Hyperion will unlock 10% of HYN(BEP2) supply, enabling users to swap HYN(ERC20) for HYN(BEP2). To do so, users can:
- Deposit HYN(ERC20) onto Binance. On the platform, there will be an option to select a HYN token deposit address under the ‘funds’ section.
- Withdraw HYN(BEP2) from Binance into Binance DEX, Trust Wallet or alternative wallets supporting BEP2.
- The listing day on Binance DEX will be determined by the progress of community validation and will be announced separately.
Binance Migration Notes
- All HYN(ERC20) swapped to HYN(BEP2) will be burned, thus not affecting the total circulating supply. This will not affect HYN(ERC20) that are not swapped.
- Hyperion will continue to unlock 5% of HYN(BEP2) total supply as required by liquidity on exchanges until such time that all HYN(ERC20) is swapped out or otherwise.
About Hyperion
Hyperion is a decentralized map platform that aims to create “One Map” for the world. We believe that “One Map” will bring new hopes and possibilities, by offering a trustless and transparent map ecosystem. In addition, as the building and servicing of maps are highly localized, with a decentralized architecture, we can make maps better for smarter cities, geospatial services, automotive and more.
Hyperion has already launched two products that forms the basis of decentralized map architecture, Map3 — a decentralized map back-end and Titan — a cryptographically protected front-end:
- Map3 is a peer-to-peer distributed network of nodes hosted by our global community (100+ and growing). Similar to BitTorrent, a map3 node can easily be hosted by anyone with internet connectivity. The p2p network is impractical to shutdown and thus provides ultra robustness to our map services. The network is now in beta stage and already equipped to serve millions of users. Map3 is also a multi-content network where communities can share their map layers and allow others to access them through our APIs. Base vector map and image map resources are already available on the network.
- Titan is a mobile client application that uses Map3 services. Titan demonstrates a spectrum of Map3 capabilities. In addition, Titan is designed with total privacy in mind. In particular, user location data never leaves the phone and location data sharing is protected with a purpose built Cryptographic Location Sharing protocol.
