Hyperlane and Eclipse are excited to announce their collaboration to bring Hyperlane’s Permissionless Interoperability solution to Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) based blockchains.

Eclipse engineers have been diligently working over the past quarter to build support for Hyperlane’s interoperability stack on Eclipse, and Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) based blockchains. Hyperlane enables Eclipse to offer users more features, including:

  • Empowering Eclipse rollups to connect with other rollups and ecosystems permissionlessly, offering a complement to IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication) protocol by enabling communication with non-IBC-enabled chains
  • Providing fast-finality interoperability protocol for Eclipse rollups
  • Establishing a mechanism for a token bridge
  • Expanding the potential user base and use cases in the SVM blockchain ecosystem

What is Eclipse?

Eclipse is a customizable rollup provider designed for developers building some of blockchain’s most unique use cases. Eclipse features a novel architecture that allows for decentralized applications to act as their own sovereign chain. This enables developers to deploy customizable chains without the hassle of managing infrastructure and security.

Why Hyperlane?

As a rollup provider, Eclipse required an out-of-the-box interoperability solution that could serve all of their future rollups with minimal deployment effort. Hyperlane’s Permissionless Interoperability fit the bill perfectly, enabling anyone to deploy the Hyperlane stack on any chain. This allows any Eclipse rollup to easily launch with built-in interoperability on day one.

Another key factor in the collaboration was the shared vision of customizable and modular blockchains.Hyperlane’s uniquely modular architecture was an ideal match for Eclipse’s modular rollup stack. Eclipse rollup developers can now have full range customizability of both the rollup stack AND interoperability stack.

The collaboration between Hyperlane and Eclipse is a significant step forward in promoting interoperability, modularity, and customization across the industry, especially within the SVM ecosystem.

More about Hyperlane

Hyperlane is the first Permissionless Interoperability layer, enabling anyone to connect any blockchain, out-of-the-box. With Hyperlane, developers can build Interchain Applications, apps that abstract away the complexity of interchain interactions and serve users on any connected chain. Additionally, Hyperlane’s modular security stack gives developers the power to customize their interchain security. Hyperlane development is open-source and led by core developers at Abacus Works.
