From the early days of HyperTrack, the most common request we received from users was a ready-to-use app for their workforce to get started with tracking. These are businesses that do not have their own driver app to manage their workflows yet and want to use HyperTrack to monitor their workforce and power a great tracking experience for their customers. They include large enterprises with fleets, large logistics companies, corporations with large sales and service teams, inter-city transport companies with heavy vehicles and on-demand economy companies with outsourced technology teams.

These businesses have drivers with smartphones but do not have the in-house technology resources to build an app to manage pickups, deliveries and visits. They want to pilot with an app that lets the operations manager assign tasks to the driver through a dashboard or API. The driver gets notified with the assigned task, taps a button before setting off on the trip and puts the smartphone away. Building their own driver app with custom workflows would be the next phase once the current deployment demonstrates value.

We initially resisted the idea of developing such an app because we strongly believe that businesses need to build their own app to manage their unique workflows. The pain of migrating the workforce from manual processes to app-based processes and then from one app to the other gets harder as you scale. Off-the-shelf apps fail to provide the flexibility that the business needs when you are ready to go bespoke. But as we spoke to more businesses, we realized how widespread the “cold start” problem is. How can businesses test and pilot the technology before investing in building their own app for the long-term?

Welcome HyperTrack with SendETA!

Now a business can use HyperTrack with the SendETA app to monitor their operations and deliver a great customer experience. Here is how it works.

1. Sign-up for HyperTrack

To start, sign up for HyperTrack here. Once you verify your email id, you would gain access to HyperTrack dashboard, which is your go-to place to monitor your operations.

2. Invite drivers from HyperTrack dashboard

Go to drivers section of HyperTrack dashboard, and start adding your drivers’ details. Make sure that you check the “Request driver to use SendETA” option to track your drivers using the SendETA app.

3. Ask your drivers to install and accept your invite

Your drivers will receive a notification to install the SendETA app, and accept your invite within the app. Once they accept the invite, they would be able to mark their trips as business trips (instead of personal trips).

4. Add and assign tasks

Now, as you get new delivery, pickup or appointment tasks, visit the tasks section of HyperTrack dashboard, and start adding those tasks. You can assign the task to any of your drivers who have accepted your SendETA invite. Note that you can always add and assign tasks using APIs as well.

5. Your driver starts the task from SendETA app

Once you assign a task, the driver would receive a notification about pending task. The driver can start the task when ready.

6. Share ETA and tracking URL with your customers

Once the task starts, you would receive an alert on the HyperTrack dashboard. The alert would provide you with an ETA and a unique tracking URL. You can share this with your end customer so they can track your driver in real-time and be ready for the pickup/delivery/appointment when your driver arrives. Note that you choose to get these alerts via API as well by using web hooks.

7. Monitor task, get real-time alerts on HyperTrack dashboard

You would also be able to track your driver right from the dashboard. You will get real-time alerts if they get delayed, get stuck in an unexpected traffic, or if they take an unexpected stop. You will also be able to replay any of the past trips.

8. Analyze performance, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency

You would be able to analyze on-time performance of drivers and fleets, on-time performance with respect to customers and neighborhoods, and utilization of your workforce by driver, fleet and neighborhoods.

We are excited about this release, as it lets many of our interested users get started with HyperTrack sooner. We are looking forward to hear your feedback and thoughts on what else you would like to see in the app. Write to us at feedback@hypertrack.io.
