State of Blockchain Gaming 08.07.2022

Blockchain Gaming is still growing at a rapid pace. Unlike the traditional gaming industry, blockchain games allow players to earn money for their time and effort. Let’s take a look at the networks, platforms, statuses, genres, and current state of games in this growing industry.

As of June 6, there are 1712 Web3 Blockchain games. Web3 games are using 40+ networks. Since the beginning of 2022, more than 10 blockchains have incorporated themselves into the web3 gaming ecosystem.

If we look at the data from last month, there is a nice 7.47% (119) increase in the number of games. Past month there were 1593 games.

Binance network is the blockchain with the most games, with 607 games. A month ago this number was 562 and it showed an increase of 8.01%.

After Binance, Ethereum Network takes its place with 375 games. A month ago this number was 360 and showed an increase of 4.17%.

After Ethereum, Polygon Network takes its place with 197 games. A month ago, this number was 179 and showed an increase of 10.06%.

When we look at the breakthroughs in blockchains, Solana, which had only 20 games 8 months ago, now has 98 games. This means an increase of 390%.

While GALA, Wemix, and Cardano did not exist 6 months ago, they are now on the list by hosting at least 9 games.

WAX blockchain continues to hold its share in web3 games. While it hosted 48 games 8 months ago, it has now reached 83 games.

Blockchain games also show their presence in the mobile game market, which has gained a large share of revenue in the last 3 years. You can see the platforms where the games are published the most in the chart below:

Out of 1712 Blockchain games, 445 are now playable. Of the games, 197 are in Beta testing, 237 are in presale, 127 are in Alpha testing, and 379 are still in development.

When we look at the games according to their genres, we see the most Action games. The 5 genres with the most games are respectively; Action with 315 PVP with 294, RPG with 248, adventure with 218, Card with 165, and DeFi with 1168.

When we compare it with 8 months ago, we can say that the most increases are in Action and Adventure genres (3–4 times increase).

Axie Infinity, the most popular Blockchain game, includes Breeding, Card and PVP genres.

In general, the increase in the number of games is progressing nicely. Without forgetting, we think that the interest in web3 games will increase as AAA-type games such as Nifty Island and games with a high entertainment element such as Ev.io come.
