Be the change.

The Orange County Convention Center // Orlando, Florida

In less than a month, these three words will be on full display across Orlando, Florida, when more than 45,000 healthcare providers, market suppliers, and innovators converge for the 2020 HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition.

This year’s slogan is undoubtedly bold and especially in line with HIMSS’s mission of “reforming the global health ecosystem through the power of information and technology”. But what does it actually mean?

Healthcare innovation is at the forefront of everything we do at Hyro. And though our platform is universal and adaptable across any vertical, we are constantly energized by a desire to tackle the emerging challenges faced by this four-trillion dollar industry. Our drive to streamline the patient journey fuels our imagination and challenges us to think creatively about the pain points we’ve committed ourselves to solve. Disrupting the field of conversational healthcare demands self-enforced accountability; how do we exemplify “being the change” day by day, week over week?

For us, and we believe this applies to HIMSS as well, this question inspires not an immediate answer, but an innovative way of thinking. And it is by striving to abide by this thought process that we have been able to win the trust of some of the leading health providers in the country, including Weill Cornell Medicine, and bring about real change to their practitioners and patients.

Now, as the conference rapidly approaches, we look forward to forming new relationships, engaging with our peers and learning from some of the brightest minds in healthcare with regard to what lies ahead. To mark the occasion we’ve decided to highlight some of the standout HIMSS20 trends and ideas that are bringing Hyro to Orlando this spring.

Out of the highly curated keynote sessions that HIMSS is offering this year, we’re particularly excited to attend “Digital Transformation: The Path Forward” where CEOs Gianrico Farrugia of Mayo Clinic and Rod Hochman of Providence St. Joseph are poised to discuss the impact of digital health on their patients, the organizations they lead and their journey to a digital health ecosystem.

At Hyro, we draw inspiration from these two tech-forward leaders and are emboldened by their innovative leaps in the healthcare sphere. We believe that our platform is a catalyst for digital transformation and salute CEOs, CIOs and other executives who recognize the need to transform the way data is currently being utilized by health systems across the globe.

As innovators in the field of conversational AI, we’re naturally anticipating another keynote session: “Healthcare’s Prescription for Transformation: AI”. The five billed luminaries — Joanna Shields, Karen Murphy, Marc Overhage, Pascal Zuta, and Tasa Kass-Hout — are all spearheading the AI revolution in healthcare, casting an immense impact on the future of digital health. But overall, we feel that our values align most with the message Karen Murphy of Geisinger is spreading. She drove the point home last year during HIMSS Patient Engagement and Experience Summit when she eloquently described a prominent pain point shared across all divisions of healthcare, one that we as a company endeavor to solve at scale — patient engagement.

Digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence, and patient engagement are only a handful of topics out of hundreds of discussions, dialogues, and deep-dives that will overtake the Orange County Convention Center next month. From interoperability to cybersecurity through pediatrics and the onset of the “Silver Tsunami”, healthcare is at a time of pivotal flux, and the possibilities for change appear infinite. Zoom out from the field, however, and the through-line between all of these seemingly incongruous concepts and trends becomes clear: improve the patient journey.

Are you also heading to HIMSS20? Let’s chat about the patient journey over coffee, juice, beer, or whatever your preference. To find out how our conversational AI is transforming the way patients engage with their healthcare providers through Natural Language, come check us out at Booth 8200–101 — Innovation Live or schedule a meeting with me at aaron@hyro.ai. See you there.
