Pekkan. When you hear this surname in Turkey, it’s usually regarding two of the most iconic Turkish female performers ever. Ajda Pekkan and Semiramis Pekkan. Two sisters, two icons, two different artists, that are loved by all generations.

When people mention their names, you can literally see the love and the respect that fill their eyes.

Ajda and Semiramis Pekkan are two women that changed my life with their music. They are also the ones that made me fall in love with Turkish music. Now, there isn’t a day without listening to their enchanting songs, enchanting in their own different way.

That’s why I called them “The Goddesses of Turkish Music”. And that’s why I decided to pay homage to these incredible women with articles, dedicated to each of them.
