The Divided…

With regard to the tragic Walmart shooting in El Paso TX, I keep seeing comments that “The government needs to d something.”

Through my work on the Theory of Indivisibility Podcast, I help people to see that the government *is* doing something. It’s doing/has been doing what it is *designed* to do.

Our governance system DIVIDES us with party politics which organizes us based on our differences. It uses debate as a communication framework… a framework designed to create winners and losers.

Our economic system DIVIDES us by social-class which stratifies us based on our skills.

Our religions DIVIDE us by making us believe that our morals and beliefs are superior to those who don’t believe them.

Our education system DIVIDES us by grooming us to accept social-class stratification based on certain skills and abilities. A-B students = Middle class — Wealthy people while C-F Students = working-class — impoverished people.

Divisiveness leads to constant struggle. We are literally constantly at varying degrees of war with one another. So I’m never surprised when someone takes it to the extreme.

We are not to blame for these problems occurring, but we do have the power to evolve past them.

The Indivisible…

Our governance, religious, economic, and education systems are all human-made social constructs (systems) that were created as solutions to problems hundreds to thousands of years ago based on the evolution of knowledge, skills, and technologies of those times. (I provide evidence for this in episodes 1–3 of the podcast).

This means that we as humans also have the ability to *design* new social constructs. In 2019, based on the evolutionary advancements of knowledge, skills, and technology we now have the ability to learn from the past like never before and the use of new tools to create healthy & sustainable outcomes for the future.

We have the choice to create/embrace INDIVISIBLE governance systems. Governance systems rooted in consent-based decision-making processes that promote listening, empathizing, and compromising to create win-wins. (i.e Sociocracy)

We have the choice to create/embrace INDIVISIBLE economic systems rooted in Biomimicry (i.e Circular Economy). Economic systems that reconnect us to the balanced symbiotic processes of nature that provide all the resources we need to live and thrive naturally *at no monetary cost*. Natural resources like oxygen, water, plants & animals (food), material resources, and human skills & abilities.

We have the choice to embrace/create INDIVISIBLE religious practices. Non-judgmental & non-competing Religious practices that grow us spiritually and embraces each of us as unique individuals deserving of love, respect, and community (i.e Unitarian Universalist).

We have the choice to create/embrace INDIVISIBLE education systems. Education systems that understand that learning is innate, natural, and an individualized journey towards self-actualization that shouldn’t be forced or standardized (i.e Self-Directed Education).

It’s not up to the government to create Indivisibility in society. It’s up to each of us as individuals to start transitioning away from living Divided towards living Indivisible one baby step at a time.
